Expect big notes of citrus (mostly lemon), slight tropical fruit, and a light peppery finish in this strong, golden Saison.

Tap. Clear gold with a light white head that laces well. Aromas of citrus, apple, spice, and light grain. Flavor is the same with a slightly dry and warm finish. Mostly sweet buy balanced by the alcohol and pepper.

Alcoholic sense that darker malts would have covered. Grassy and wheat mixed with some fruit. Light but smooth and dry.

Draft at Tivoli Brewing Tap House. Clear yellow appearance with a small white head. Aroma of fruity esters, banana, clove, farmhouse yeast and a light earthy spice. Similar flavor, adding moderate sweetness a touch of alcohol at the finish. Medium body. OK.

Draft at What’s on Tap. Mostly clear golden with a little white head. Belgian yeast and spice aroma. Nice saison.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly to moderately yeasty (basement), with notes of alcohol, gum, sugar, plastic, pepper, pear syrup. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Fairly average for a boozy BSA...while very alcohol-focused, there are still other things that manage to make it past the vapors (a few unpleasant things but some aspects are nice). Starts very sweet but it manages to dry things out quite a bit in the finish, enough to be drinkable (if a little short of enjoyable). The flabby, burning mouthfeel doesn’t help things, though. Overall a bit sloppy and generic, but acceptable. Best thing I’ve had from this brewery to date, so there’s hope yet...

Tap at the pub. Pours a hazy yellow color with a bubbly white head. Strong notes of saison yeast and esters on the nose. Slight peppery phenols. Flavor is grains with yeasty esters. Slight funk. Noticeable warmth on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The awesome cloudy yellow appearance of this beer wasn’t really evident in the sample as it was in the full beer. Fairly fruity with some noticeable alcohol at the end, it was a pretty tasty beer overall.

Haze filled deep golden wth a thin rocky white head. Big musty sweet estery nose with caramelized wheat and hay, clove, gentle banana, and coriander. Big flavor full of wheat and coriander, a bit of banana and Belgian ester sweetness, and a warm grainy barnyard semisweet finish.

mysticbrew (121) - - SEP 26, 2015
Draft @ Preston Hollow Grill. A lightly hazy yellow pour a tight white head with lacings through the glass. The aroma is citrus with light malt and wild yeast. The is a crisp light malt with a lemon/grapefruit citrus. There's slight sourness that adds to the light refreshing palate. Finishes with a subtle hop bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
