4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle from Dabucas. Pours out a cloudy light orange with a thick milkshake head. Bright, citrus aromas. Body is light and fruity. Lightly grapefruit and refreshing and smooth. Slight bit of peppery spice further down the glass, Slightly bitter - bready finish. Alcohol is very well masked for not being a sweet beer. Glad to see some local brewers putting out high-quality IPAs like this!
First opportunity to sit down and judge a beer here in the fine, humid, pleasant, humid and humid city of Boston. Pours a hazy peach meat with a solid ring of whites and a few scattered goods around the top. Smells decent with grapefruit, some biscuit, a little floral soap and a slight resin. Flavor isn’t as punctual: tannic with some crackers and lots of bitterness, a alcoholic sharpness and some weed. Medium bodied with samarai slicing carbonation and a semi dry finish that is subsequently overcome by the response of my parotid glands to the bitterness. Meh.

Pours dark blond with low white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruits, citrus, malt. Taste is of pine, citrus, some vegetal stuff, resin, bitterness. A tad harsh. Palate: Medium body. Overall: Alcohol well hidden. Good, but not outstanding. tom10101 (6226) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2013
Bottle (22 oz). Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head and some lacing. Aroma is of malt, pine, alcohol, grapefruit and spices. Taste is moderately sweet with pine, tropical fruits, boozy notes and moderate to heavy bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Too sweet to be among the best. Not bad, but easy to forget. czar (9338) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2013

Bottle. Hazy gold pour, white head. Fruity sprucy aroma, intense wet hops. Taste is super bitter, pungent hop juice, sweet malty flavors despite the very light body. Palate is medium-full bodied with light carbonation. O.K.

22oz bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with an off white head. Citrus, citrus rinds/peels, and some caramel. This one grew on me the more I drank it. TheGent (656) - , Massachusetts, USA - SEP 25, 2013
first of a series that I am curious to see more of. 22oz bomber that sports picture of the backlash bulldog. Fairly clear yellow color with cool looking bubbly head. Aroma is like a candied grapefruit with with a little resin and egg whites. Taste is a medium dank bitter that does not overpower like many DIPA. Fresh body that is just one note above thin but makes this higher abc offering very easy to go down. an imperial ipa I feel like I could drink throughout a night (though I would get myself in trouble) jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 20, 2013
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and resinous hops, some pale and caramel malts, and light soapy notes. Flavor the same with a nice hoppiness but something just doesn’t work and gives the beer a weird characteristic. Average texture. Not bad but not great. msnelling09 (154) - Beverly, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 6, 2013
The beer pours a golden, shimmering yellow with light hues of orange. It pours with a great head of gently creamy bubbles that slowly works away to a soap bubble head. In body the beer is crystal clear and clean with just the lightest haze. On the nose, this beer is a beautiful bouquet of citric fruits. Grapefruit is the main player, giving prickly citric goodness to the nose while touches of lemon and very light lime notes and a lighter note of apple skins. Beneath the hops is a nice light sweet malt flavoring is also there. On the tongue, the beer tastes bitter and sweet with a beautiful balance that rests properly on the bitter side. In flavor, the beer begins as bitter grapefruit with touches of medicinal hops and a light prickling pine. The flavor slowly introduces sweet bready malt, though it is light, adding a balance to the bitter hops. On the finish, especially as the beer warms, alcohol heat comes through alongside medicinal bitters and light grapefruit. Aftertaste rings with bitter grapefruit and medicinal bitters. In the mouth, the beer feels smooth, and medium in body with a creamy carbonation that lightly prickles the tongue and feels slightly biting from the bitters. The mouth is left dry and begging for more beer to wet it again. Overall, this is a nice bitter IPA. Truthfully, I only really like Amarillo hops when mixed with other hops. On its own it has some nice complexity and but really is not my flavor profile. This beer is good, but not my favorite.
