COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bavarian Weizen is a light and refreshing German style wheat beer. Its cloudy appearance and spicy flavor can be attributed to the Old World yeast used to make it.
Note: Formerly Einfach Weizen.

6/14/14. 12oz bottle from Happy’s in Cedar Falls. Hazy orange pour with a nice khaki head that sticks well. Okay aroma - creaminess, vanilla, some banana, citrus, and phenolics - throws just a touch too much of that rubber band type aspect for me. I am really digging the flavor, though. Creamy vanilla and cream, a dose of bitterness and phenolics, orange peel, creamsicle almost in a way. Just a touch of lingering bitterness and just a hint of tartness. Quite tasty, actually.

12 oz bottle, poured into a bell glass at approximately 40 degrees F. A: Pours into the glass the color of heavy clover honey, an orange-amber cloudy brew with bubbles continually streaming up from the bottom. No real head forms to speak of, nor any lacing. S: Fruit esters leap out at the forefront, banana and peach, with some clove and coriander spiciness towards the end. T: Pale bread with the spices and fruits as promised by the nose, swirling delicately across the tongue. There’s a bit of a sharp edge to the flavors, a citrusy acidity. M: Heavily carbonated, and quite so, this beer is otherwise relatively light in body. O: Overall, a decently executed hefe, with the expected flavor profile. The carbonation is a bit on the higher side.

Wow. This brewery makes some horrendous beer. What the fuck. You can’t even make a halfway there Hefe and you have the gall to push this on the public? Putrid disgusting aroma. Fermented garbage juice. Tastes like a bad saison mixed with a hefe...not quite as off the chain bad as the aroma would suggest. Wow. I really hate this brewery. Horrible. Avoid.

Bottle poured into a Weizen glass. Aroma of spices and banana. Somewhat of a murky golden color that pours with a three finger head but quickly dissipates. Taste was somewhat sweet and spicy. Feels like a light body beer with bubbly carbonation, with a bit of mild bitterness with the finish. This beer is okay for an American produced Hefeweizen but doesn’t really stand out to me. I may revisit this brew down the road.
