The Dunkel is a dark (dunkel is German for Dark) lager from the great beer halls of Munich. It has a malty slightly roasted flavor and a smooth finish. This is the darkest of our regular beers.

12 oz botttle from HyVee in Council Bluffs. No bottling date or expiration date anywhere on the bottle. Clear amber with fast dying head. Aroma is dirty grain, sweaty socks, and slight off yeast. Yup, the sat at the supermarket entirely too long. Taste like dirty socks and muddy river water.

I’m not much of a dunkel fan, so take my rating with a grain of salt. This one is very bitter, doesn’t have any slight sweetness or creaminess to balance it, and is a bit thin for my liking.

Pours a amber in color with a tan head . The aroma is of malts with a hint of toffee and caramel. Even more going on with the taste than the aroma suggests with a hint of nut and cocoa even.
