Cask at the Assembly Rooms, Solihull. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, slightly watery hop bitter, light medicinal palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Not the best bitter I have ever tasted. Probably coming to the end of the barrel.

Cask conditioned handpump Criterion Leicester 29/04/14. A dark gold coloured beer with a white head and lace. Fruity and yeasty. Don;t like the bready malts mixed with the yeast here - they don’t gel well. Not for me,

Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Golden brown with an off white head. Aromas are weetabix malts with cream and lemon. Quite honeyed with woody, herbal and spicy notes. Flavours are sweet caramel and honey with weetabix. Woody with a chemical bitterness and spices . It’s OK.

Birthday beer no 2. [email protected] matthews hall, walsall. Dark amber beer with tight medium head and good lacing. Aroma of rich malts. Taste is smokey malts, some orchard fruit and mild hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Good beer.

Cask conditioned at The Old Fox, Birmingham. Brown amber with white head. Particularly smooth bitter with quite a bonfire, smoky note in the malt giving a certain richness, fairly restrained on hops and there is a sweet saccharine note (Cheers for that Derrick). Certainly quite unusual.
