Chalice. Clear, pale gold, lightly spritzed. Faint ring of soapy head.
Smells like a starchy american hef. Bubble gum, chardonnay, light banana candy, boiled apples.
Taste is half sour/sharp apples & a solid herbal bitterness. Lemon. Creamy yeast, & a subtle bready sweetness. Lightly carbed. Crisp finish. Slight burn. Refreshing.
Not being overdone is its best quality. Best wit yeast cider out of the handful I’ve tried.
Bottle shared with my wife. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head that vanishes after pouring. Soft musky yeast on the nose, some hints of old apples and a bit of a mint note. Medium bodied, bright vibrant carbonation, lively with a tiny bit of acidity. Hints of coriander and touches of banana yeast. Super interesting, light acidity, gentle apples. I am really into Bad Seed’s beer style ciders. This one had a complex palate and overall a pretty heavy body for a very dry cider. Coriander, orange peel and hops... its citrusy, slightly bitter, and cloudy like a true witte, unfiltered. Bitterending (11) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Great cider full bodied almost silky mouth feel with great yeasty notes from the abby beer yeast and lots of citrus. I wasn’t sure at first but by the last glass I am craving more.
