COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hefeweizen. This refreshing Bavarian style wheat beer is a real Bad Seed. It was one of the first beers to break the Reinheitsgebot, the strict German purity laws. Rules about beer are silly, and we love the delicious taste of rebellion. 5.1% abv Ingredients: Malt – Wheat, Pilsner Hops – Perle

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is esters, light body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is esters and some wheat.

Cask at Reading Beer Festival. Murky golden-brown with a thick white head. Lots of orange and brown bread, a little banana, a touch of grass and a hint of clove in the aftertaste. I don’t often like wheat beers but this one is pretty tasty.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing!
Pours hazy golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of wheat, orange and yeast. Taste of yeasty fruits, orange, tangerine, hints of banana, nice!

Fresh smooth beginning. sourish hints, grainy watery body. Only hints of clove in the back, slightly sweetish-soapy. Nothing in common with a German Hefeweizen. Drinkable but strange.

Bottle at home. Bought at Hogs Back Brewery. Pungent citrus, banana and spice aroma. Light gold and hazy. Bright white head - initially super frothy, before ebbing away. Sweet and sour, in fact more of the latter. Real citrus impact. Overpowers the banana and cloves referenced on the (actual small cardboard) label. Light bodied. Watery but also some oilyness to it. Flawed but still enjoy enjoyable.

Bottle, nose has banana peel and spice plus a hint of horseradish. Slightly thin body is more Pale Ale than Hefe, initially sweet, hints of orange.

ladnewton (1937) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2016
Bottle at home on 5th June 2016. Pours hazy gold with virtually no head or lacing. Rich zingy lemon aroma. Sharp yeasts and citrus in-mouth, leaving a remotely citric, grassy finish with rear-mouth bitterness and earthy pungency. Light body and mouthfeel.

Keg in Trembling Madness in York. Pours cloudy and golden with a small cream head. Nice and wheaty on the nose. Really nice and wheaty a little bacon and banana. Good.

If you’re going to put Hefeweizen on the label, you should put hefeweizen in the bottle. Something cloudy with a frothy head that smells and tastes of banana, cloves and bubblegum: the beer I poured out of this 330ml bottle was bright clear gold, with no head. and no aroma to speak of. Strange dry cardboard dipped in Kia Ora flavour with a hint of paracetamol. So utterly perverse, I began to like it, but what’s going on here?

Lovely head on this subtle taste of cloves and doughy yeast very refreshing and easy drinking.
