COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship year-round release WINDVANE stands strong through all types of weather and is a great fit for all seasons. Pouring a deep brilliant red, this is your go-to beer. If you want something hoppy, you definitely have it. American hops give WINDVANE a swift bitterness with piney, citrus and resinous flavors. If you want something with strong malt shoulders, you have that too. Roast malt layers add complexity and keeps the beer dry to showcase the hops.

8/20/14 on tap in shaker glass at Pizza Luce Uptown. Aroma is soft roasted malt and sweet citrus. As glass warms aroma becomes more pronounced and becomes hoppy 1/2 way through. Color is gorgeous caramel bronze. There is a lot flavor-wize happening here. Both roasted malt and hops evident. Brewery states this beer will appeal to hop heads and malt heads. I agree. Hops become more pronounced as the glass warms. This is a full flavored beer. It is a good, not great, beer but I would order another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Received in a trade -- poured into a pint glass, appearance is a clear red/brown with mild hop bitterness aroma. Flavor is a nice balance of malt and hops leaning towards hops.

I’m not much of a red ale fellow, but this was a pleasant surprise, with assertive dark cherry and chocolate aromas and flavors. Defied the genre and my expectations, as it had stout-like traits. Will definitely buy some more.

Sampled at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a semi-clear reddish amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of multi-grassy and citrus hops, a hint of caramel and a touch of earthy herbs. Taste is about the same as flavor but has a touch of dry rye grain bill. Finish is semi-dry, earthy hop aftertaste with some pine and biscuit aftertaste.

Strong hop taste. (About all I can taste.) Nice color, but that’s it. No aroma to speak of.

Decent beer. Flavor is a good balance of malt and hoppiness. Overall nothing too special though

Pour color is a very nice amber and red hue. Aroma is too strong of hops and dry hop notes for a red, has a metalic note with no malt backbone on the nose. Tatse is too bitter with no malt balance for the hops and has an astringent metallic finish. Close but not quite on this one, tone down the hops and boost the malt and it will be great.

Red color with a medium head. Aroma of piney hops. Light pine flavor with a fairly high bitterness. Dry biscuit and metallic notes.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with white head. Caramel, piney, hoppy aromas. Caramel, floral, grassy flavors. A nice drinkable beer, nothing exciting but solid.
