3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Got this at a bar in SP, don’t know the price, I neither have seen the label before tasting, just said as "cerveza escura". It poured red, slightly hazed, big offwhite head. Something roasted on the nose. Aroma was pretty straight with roasted malts and ale fermentation that left a fruity tone. But i didn’t expect this to be a massive 9.2%, i thought around 6-7%. Nicely bodied, dry and spicy finish.
Already got a couple of other Baden Baden, and this was good too. At least considering the offer in this country, where special beers are a niche.
Clear dark red-brown with beige head. Aroma is dried fruits and slightly burnt caramel. Taste is dried fruits, autumn leaves, sweet brown bread and caramel. Medium, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, medium carbonation and light bitter caramelized brown sugar aftertaste. FabioVon (1) - - JUL 16, 2016 does not count

Suprisingly good for some thing labeled a red ale and purchased at a convenience store. Reddish body. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is rich sweet bubblegum and dried fruit with some bitter roasty notes and booze. Nice beer. bartholos (258) - GERMANY - JUL 1, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2016 Bottle. Dark reddish brown color with a full frothy tan head. Aroma of malts and fruits, apple and plum. Light spicy notes, pepper and glove. Taste is light sweet with a bitter dry finish. Harmonic and well balanced neither sticky sweet nor too bitter. Full thick bodied, with medium carbonation causes a creamy mouthfeel. There is a quite strong alcoholic notes with a good alcoholic warmth. Strong malty flavor, spicy and peppery with apple and plum. Finish is short and bitter dry. ranthero (68) - BRAZIL - MAY 28, 2016
Cerveja com tom avermelhado e escuro. Espuma com boa formação e pouco persistente. O teor alcoólico mais elevado é fácil de perceber no paladar. Agradável de beber

Many thanks to waqas for nabbing this beer while in Brazil. Ok so I drank the beer and was like nice....smooth but boozy. Super heavy malty. Not a red ale... Then I come on here and see barley wine. And I’m sort of... Ok this makes sense. I’m fact it makes a lot of sense. Red ale... Hell no. Barely wine. Pretty solid. Severely lacking in smell. Taste is a. It sweet with some bubblegum. Smooth and easy tho. I’ll take it. mauroruellas (792) - GETULINA, BRAZIL - JAN 18, 2016

Bottle, 600 ml. Pours on copper to brown non persistent head. Its color is like a dark rusted metal, going to dark Red to light brown. It tastes delicious caramel and dry fruits, loved its bouquet. Although its high ABV, Alcohol taste is well balanced on mouth. The real style is barley wine, not Red ale, and in the non proposal style, this beer is amazing! albmoro (133) - BRAZIL - OCT 23, 2015
Aromática e bastante encorpada. Bom exemplo de uma Ale. Apenas achei que o álcool sobressai demais, rouba um pouco o sabor do conjunto. sccp1910 (251) - BRAZIL - OCT 18, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2017 Aroma suave e agradável, cor escura, amarronzada. Balanceamento perfeito do amargor combinado com um paladar muito agradável.
