2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden color, small white head. The aroma is Saaz, hops and Pilsner malt. The flavor is similar, but with an overly strong bitter finish that is a little dry. Body is nice.
An excellent Bohemian style Pilsener. From a can into a Pilsener glass.
Aroma: A balance of rich malt and clean hops neither over powering the other.
Appearance: Deep gold color with lively carbonation and slight cloudiness.
Taste: Rich, clean, bread malt taste with a slight spice of hops for balance.
Palate: Crisp and smooth, full bodied.
Overall: A great drinkable everyday beer. seymour (2121) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - AUG 27, 2017
Tasted on draft at Pizano’s in downtown Chicago, it poured a clear yellow colour with weak white foam. Low but pleasant aroma with good true-to-style Pilsener flavour: grainy and grassy, hint of marshmallowy candy sweetness, delicate peppery hoppy balance. Unexpected bubble-gum ester. Light body, strong carbonation, crisp and refreshing lager finish. Very tasty and moreish. TAR (2802) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - JUL 12, 2017
Hazed orange with a golden cast. Uneven broken white crown of wispy foam. Extremely dull and unclean aroma of DMS, metal, popcorn, brine, sulfur (egg), dirty dish rag, and hints of orange marmalade and flowers. Pointy carbonation. Pronounced Saaz unleashes soft flower petals and elegant tealike notes amid an orangey fruitiness on entry. Fully malty and assertively bitter, though there is minimal snappiness to the body to highlight this. Muddling DMS soon blossoms to levels of excess, and diacetyl, albeit minor, reinforces the dirty fermentation character. Profuse amount of popcorn-like huskiness nearly induces nausea when combined with the profound vegetal character. Notes of bile and innumerable other unpleasantries like mildew and metal dare you to take a swallow. Bitterness is flabbier and semi-tannic as it progresses, with notes of spent tealeaves chasing pervasive egg-like sulfur. Zero malt definition despite three decoctions. Ends sweet and dirty, with a host of the aforementioned defects running amok. Frankly, this is a brewing abomination, and makes me scratch my head as to why they bother with the painstaking labor to decoct this not once, but three times. I was extremely psyched to try it, given how traditional the approach is. Not even three decoctions can come close to helping this, though. There’s an unseemly amount of DMS, and the huskiness is insufferable too. The world begs for more triple-decocted Czech-style pilsners (How many do we have in this country? Three or four?), but not if they’re this shoddy.

Golden color with a moderate sized off-white head. Aromas of grains and sweet cream. Sweet grain and light toasted malt flavors. Some honey and biscuits. A heavy lager at best. 5/13

Deep rich gold/ruddy color with lots of large bubbles and a large spongy head. Lots of malt character with dough/saltine flavor. The hops are spicy and pungent, overwhelming the flavor profile pretty quickly.

On tap at the brewery. Golden appearance with a white head. Sweet, slightly husky nose. A little twangy. Actually fairly dry in the mouth. Lightly floral. Fine. crossovert (14152) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 1, 2016
Draft. this stuff has come a long ways form when it first started. It is now a hoppy almost north german style pils that is immensely crushable. sawbuck (779) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2016
Aroma of fresh bread, some spicy herbs. Nice deep gold color with a huge white head. Sweet in front. Not robust, a bit week. Earthy bitterness melds in. Definitely a lighter pilsner....missing something. Finish is an average blend of mild sweetness and mild hops. Nothing special here but drinkable. Ahuth (665) - Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Bottled. Pours a cloudy Amber. Has a light wet palate. Has a sweet malty taste. Ratman197 (15636) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2016
Bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of bread, light yeast and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness and light fruitiness with a smooth dry finish.
