Named in honour of the inquisitive and extremely “fursty” ferrets of the Gribble Inn, a celebrated golden brown ale, full of character.
At the heart of many a countryside village can be found an inn. A place where locals go to relax after a long day. At one such inn, rumour has it that inquisitive ferrets would sneak to the back door to cheekily sample the local brew. A sweet nutty palate, hoppy aroma and a hint of Seville oranges, give this tawny amber ale its distinctive personality. Recommended with smooth and creamy West Country Cheddar or indulgent pork pies and mustard.

Pours amber colour with great white head that leaves lots of lacing behind. Really great tasting ale. Great balance of sweet and bitter. Slight hits of orange and honey. Medium body, and light carbonation that make it easy smooth drinking. Pleasant lasting after taste.

Bottle from the Beer Store. Pours a fairly large foamy bubbly off-white head and has a clear golden amber appearance. Average carbonation. Lots of sticky dirty lacing. Aromas of barley malts, toasty and hints of caramel. Flavours are mostly malty, lots of bready and caramel malt notes, some nuts and subtle orange notes. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Not bad.

Butelka.

Pours with fluffly white head. Color is clear slightly dark lager. Aroma is of very attractive pilsner with mainly hops and some malt and bread. Very stylish. Palate is very nice with a good dry feel, but not too much. Taste is again pilsner, but this has quite strong kick from hops. Slight flouriness and yeastiness, but not much. It’s rather dry. It can be compared to Pilsner Urquell, but it’s noticeably better variation of the style. Drier, fruitier, less bitter, more wholesome and the carbonation is more appropriate.

500ml Bottle at home, poured into pint glass. Aroma: Caramel, malty Appearance: golden, with minimal head and quite carbonated Taste: honey, malty, quite sweet. Easy to drink. A nice change from the more bitter IPAs I’ve had recently. Would buy again.

Pours amber with an offwhite head that never goes away and leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma is malty. Taste is slightly sour but well balanced. There are notes of very nutty malt, oranges, lightly spicy hops, and some fruity esters. Light bodied and medium carbonation. It’s a bit watery but that just makes it easier to drink because it is quite tasty.

A very robust flavour, but can sometimes leave a sharp sugary taste on the tongue immediately after drinking. Otherwise, one of my favourites.

Bottle, 50 cl. Pleasant bitter, malt dominates. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Unfortunately not that complex aroma.
