Previously called Golden Champion Ale
The light, refreshing character of our award-winning golden ale is distinguished by its subtle elderflower aroma, reminiscent of a summer’s evening. Champion is particularly rewarding when served chilled. On a balmy evening in Stanpit Marsh, a cool breeze blows and a calm encompasses the vast reserve. Amongst the wild horses, you may see Golden Champion, a headstrong but loyal stallion who enjoys the warm days grazing in th fields. The subtle elderflower aromas of this delicately floral brew are reminiscent of a summer’s evening. This divine all-rounder is a great companion for smoky, chargrilled chicken and peppery rocket salad.

Served in a tulip glass from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium long lasting head. Aroma is a lovely blend of elderflower, black pepper, apples and a bit grassy. Taste is very floral with definite elderflower present all the way through, some deep rose and a slight grassy flavour. Very well balanced beer, very easy to drink and extremely interesting. Definitely will have more!

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thick white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of metal, watery grain and earth. Flavour of boiled cabbage, grass and cornflakes. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Astringent and vegetal.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with a small creamy white head, long lasting. Aroma is lightly floral, elderflower. Taste is hoppy, sweet, with elderflower definitely in there unlike some other beers. Quite enjoyed this one.

Nice one. Golden appearance. Elderflower aroma. Good strength. Definitely best served chilled. Will try again.

Nice tasty golden ale with something extra.
Deep golden color with a fine white head. Fruity, toffee and mild elderflower in the aroma with an ok intensity. Medium body and an average carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Floral, mild elderflower, toffee and fruity flavor.
[Bottle from an off license in London, England]

500ml bottle. Pours clear yellow-brown, quite light with bubbly head that dissipates with wide lacing. Aroma of elderflowers, black pepper and wet hay. Taste very floral with deep rose flavour with elderflower again and grass. Good balance between malt and hops, very drinkable and interesting all round.

Bottle from the Cromwell Road Sainsburys. Pours dark gold with a slight white head. Aroma is floral, elderflower fits. Med body or better. Flavor is floral and mild caramel, and it’s decently bitter. Very refreshing. Tastes good. Has a bit of that malt flavor I find in Tanner’s Jack.

Golden appearance with small white head. Light floral aroma. Sweet taste with hoppy bitterness. Low carbonation.

Ale with a nice scent of flowers and malt. It smells really like an exuberant flower garden in full bloom. The taste is comfortable malty but soon takes over a fresh floral flavors, light hop bitterness and finally a great glorious taste of elderflower. Other attempts to create a mild ale on elderflower ends sometimes in a slightly synthetic taste, but this ale is truly "the real thing".

Beautiful promising label. That’s it. Well. I was disappointed. A very bland bitter with shallow aroma, some shy notes of hops and real ale, but mostly just water. Nah...
