Bottle @ Brad’s house. Pours a clear dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Spicy, resiny hoppy, chewy caramel, rye aroma. Slight metallic note. Fairly spicy rye, toasty malty, herbal, a touch fruity, earthy flavor. Not bad. BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Tap at Lyndale Tap House. Thanks to JK for dropping the location into his rating - that’s what brought me down here. Clear amber pour with a white head. Very nicely balanced rye spicyness and sweetness. Well done, enjoyable session beer. JK (6158) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Tap at the Lyndale Tap House. Brown beer. Mild aroma of malt and grains with some hops. Flavor has a rye character, with more grain here, and enough hops to remind you they are there. Very much like a lightly hopped American pale ale. Skyview (6034) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a golden pale colored brew with a decent sized off-white head that slowly dissipates to a lumpy white head and some spotty lacing. Aroma reminds me of a northern woods cabin hot dish. Scents of golden grain malt, some earthy spices, a hint of potato, some rye bread, a hint of honey and pine. Taste is medium bodied, average carbonation with flavors of multi-grain malt, rye, and extra grassy hops. Finish is semi-dry, toasted medium malts with a lingering spicy dry hop aftertaste. My initial thought that this was good--and at first, I thought I sensed possible passion fruit notes. But with a bigger sip, and every subsequent sip, this was pretty awful. Vegetal, bitter, ack. Huge head--very big head. Bottle.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with big gushing head. I gave up on drinking this out of a glass because it was so carbonated. Straw, grainy, earthy aromas. Vegetal, grainy, slightly tangy flavors. Not a fan. islay (2734) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 12, 2013
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 1-11-13. Hoppy, dry, mineral-y, metallic smell features dirt, clay, honey, and molasses scents. Pours a clear brass / light amber with a very large amount of uneven, beige head. Produces good, long-lasting lacing. Dry, salty taste features chalk, bitter brown sugar (rum-like), lemon, and mineral water elements. Rye taste noticeable. Dry, mineral-y aftertaste. Medium body. Lively and numbing in the palate. Badger Hill Three Tree American Rye is inoffensive and adequately good but not particularly remarkable. 7/4/7/4/14=>3.6 piscator34 (2529) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 15, 2012
Draft sample. Gold in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Mild aromas of grainy malt, hay-like hops, and a bit of spice. Dry and spicy malted rye notes upfront on the palate, along with more hay and a bit of white pepper. Light bodied and dry, but not voerly hoppy. Sessionable, but not overly interesting. Perhaps a touch bland. Atom (2451) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2012
12oz bottle pours a clear copper/orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, rye, tobacco, and slightly like tomato soup. Taste of earthy bitter tobacco, followed by caramel and bitter rye spice, with some hops that doesn’t help at all. Oh my, this is a mess. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Had this at the 2012 Twin Cities Beer Festival. Nice amber, too much banana/clove taste.
