500ml bottle. An easy drinking solid ESB, there is nothing bad about it but nothing to make it stand out from the crowd. It pours light amber with a very thin head. The taste is bitter, slightly sweet at the back end and refreshing to drink. I think it would go well with a bbq food on a hot day.

Bottle from B&M Team Valley, Gateshead. Bright golden coloured with a thick white head of foam. It has a sweet peach and tropical fruity flavour followed by earthy notes on the sweet herbal finish. Pretty good.

Mooch tasting at Matt's, can
Hazy golden color. Mild honeyish aroma, stale bread. Stale bread and honey flavor, a bit metallic in the finish.
Quite bad.

Bottle. Dark golden color. Aroma: butter, earthy, spice, roasted nut and malt. Malty taste, light fruitiness, butter, grass, noticeable earthy-spicy hops.

Standard English ale. Mild and refreshing with a cantaloupe contribution from the hops.

500ml can @ Matt’s. Pours a clear golden colour with a thin white head. Nose is sweet corn and vegetal. Flavour is malty and corn like, while lightly vegetal. Meh.

500mL can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of herbal and vegetal notes, feet, and bready malt. Flavour is very malty, with lots of Britsh malt, bready notes and some vegetal character. Nothing overly offensive here, but it’s dull and cheap.

Can - Caramel and a touch of spicy wood. Clear copper gold with a rich white head. Caramel and a touch of light twig. Decent.

Grumbo (3980) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2017
Bottle at the restaurant of the Acorn Lodge near Gatwick Airport. Pours clear golden with a small lasting white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hop, fruit and light veg. Medium tangy sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet and fruity finish.

ljthiessen (1438) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 10, 2017
Can. Clear amber pour with a dense white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and a little metallic, simple and not very good. Taste is about the same, a little cloying, caramel and a coppery metallic taste, very plan, nothing really going on, and not a good balance either.

From old tasting notes. Bright brassy gold color. Rocky beige head. Soft malty nose. Crisp bittersweet malt flavor. Nice spicy hop finish. Good balance and flavor.
