Our 3rd Allstars legend is Espen Lothe. In 2009 the kind biology lecturer from Florø took his home brews out big to start Kinn Brewery. At Kinn he makes top fermented beer in open vessels, and we consider him the Norwegian Champion of Belgian beers. Hence, when he came to visit us, we put together a recipe for a Belgian Dubbel amped with raisins and candi sugar, so that we could unify as double trouble.

Feel; good body, warming, but too fizzy. Overall; boozer. Or replacement for cognac. Well, I prefer welcoming Glimt to the 2018 Premier division in Norway. Flaske fra helsekosten på Kvaddå, hjemme en fredagskveld: nesten helt klar rødlig mahogny med kort skum. Rosiner, svisker, kandis, mørke karameller og bær i myk og behagelig kombo. Mild bitterhet og karbonering, typeriktig og lett å iike (i hvertfall for meg som har en svakhet for belgisk dubbel - den dekker dagsbehovet for snop). Drikker gjerne denne igjen.

On tap at cafe Sara, october 13th 2016. Hazy brown body with a small offwhite head. Aroma of spicy and fruity belgo yeast, malt and floral hops. Taste of dark fruit and caramel, bread. Bittersweet finish with a tickling yeast note.

Fra fat på Cafe Sånn 7 Okt 16 under Bådin tap takeover. Lavt, lett farget skum. Forsiktig mandelaroma. Smaken marsipan. I søtligste laget - men ok. Plommer i ettersmaken.

Palme (5004) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 9, 2016
On tap @ Apollon. It’s quite a cloudy one this. Deep copper in color and it has a nice medium sized off-white head on the top, leaving good quality lacings down the glass. Mild nose at first. I get some plum, a caramel sweetness - toffee almost. Some Belgian yeasty stuff in here as well. Not extreme on the nose but nice. Tastes a little mild at first anyhow. I get raisins, white candied sugar, some alcohol borth warmth and sweetness. Warming red berries toward the finish and it’s oily prickling on the bubbles, nice and oily in the mouth. 330ml draught, tap takeover at Cafe Sånn. Shared with Finn. Crocheted lacing from a dissipating off-white head. Cloudy orange-brown body. Smell of marmalade and dried fruits. Candy sweet flavours character of caramel, raisin and dark fruits. Warming and not overly sweet to the ending.Medium bodied. Decent sipper (Kulturnatt, Tromsø 07.10.2016).

On tap at Whats Brewing, Stavanger. Pours hazy deep brown with a small head. Aroma of spicy malts, bread and raisins. Taste is moderate sweet caramel, raisins and alcohols, weak bitter yeasty finish

Very sweet and tasteful dubbel. The sweetness is maybe a bit unbalanced, but still pretty good. Malty, caramel and fruity aroma. Semi-clear golden liquid.

Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, hazy muddy color. Aroma is slightly sweet yeasty, weeds, minerals, bubblegum, yeast, bark, grass, almond essence, hay, light malts, candy sugar. Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, bark, weeds, yeast, minerals, light malts, almond essence, sour grass, candy sugar, bubblegum, paper. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!

No head. Aroma is kind of neutral, old leafs, minerals, yeast, sap, almond essence, candi sugar, grass. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, grass, minerals, candi sugar, bark, soil, yeast, hay, sap, flowers, booze, cardboard, hints of banana. Medium bitterness, harsh boozy mouthfeel. Meh!
