Botle. Orange peel, wheat, touch of candy. Gentle mikan fruitiness with a bready feel, green citrus peel, notes of weed, honey, pepper, dry finish. Nothing amazing but good enough as a refreshing summer treat.

Damn broke my Weizen glass... Sad but at least its a good looking deep cloudy gold with a dense head of foam. The nose is cloves and banana bread. Medium bodied it has a crackery, flatbread maltiness with spicy cloves and a tangy fruity finish. Very pleasurable. Let it warm up to squeeze some added complexity out of it. Bottle from the brewery.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into an English tulip. Hazy golden color with big soapy white head. Big aromas of banana cream pie, clove and bubblegum. Taste is very well-balanced between spice and fruit. Some tropical fruit mixed with banana along with a fair amount of clove, cardamom and coriander. Really nice carbonation and mouthfeel. Theyve definitely eliminated the overt sweetness. This is fairly spicy with a nice lightly dry and peppery finish. Wonderfully refreshing.

Bottle. Aroma is good, bananas, light spice, bit of tropical fruit, clove. Taste is good too, peach, bubblegum, creamy. Light tropical fruit at the end too. Quite different and surprisingly nice. Fairly light in the mouth, so easy drinking. Ill look out for this again.

Aroma: dusty dry straw, banana, dried orange and orange peel, spice (coriander like) Flavor: Like the aroma, plus some tropical fruit-perhaps guava?, spice, bitter dried orange peel Comment: Very good. Best Baeren Ive tasted.

Bottle. A pretty good version of the classic style. Probably not a full in flavour as say Weihenstephaner, but every box is ticked nicely. Smooth body, banana, clove and some bubblegum. Good length soft bitter finish. Well made.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2009 Dark golden / brown, with orange. Very cloudy, tall foamy head. Fragrant aroma of banana, clove, all kinds of fruits. Slightly cake-like. Bit wheat malt flavor, like a banana cream cake. Sweet, just a bit cloying, but thick and rich. Could use a touch more balance, but generally good for a sweet-type weizen.

A flavoursome, superior Japanese hefe. Cloudy gold with moderate suds. Rich, grainy and rounded wheat aroma - sugared Weetbix. European Saaz? Soft mouthfeel that thins in the swallow. Breakfasty wheat flavours with good clove notes and minimal banana. Did I mention the wheat? Very solid stuff. Im not a huge fan of the style but this impressed. (Bottle courtesy of TimE at Sullys Sydney RB gathering Xmas 07 - thanks amigo)
