Brewed for those dark malt drinkers, Strong Back is a smooth high alcohol content stout beer. With roasted barley, special fermentation and powerful yeast that is cold filtered, with no artificial color. Strong Back has a rich thick feel that brings out all flavors to a mouth coating sensation and pleasant bitterness.

In the shadow of the phenomenal success of its first product SANDS beer, the Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company softly launched another product to the Bahamian public. "Strong Back is our latest product and a truly genuine Bahamian stout" said owner James "Jimmy" Sands.

"I had a few goals when I decided to open my own brewery and one was to offer Bahamians their own stout, rich in taste but not bitter in after-taste."

The stout, formidably named Strong Back, is a dark beer created by using roasted malts or roast barley, and will now make the third product for the all-Bahamian brewery in Grand Bahama.

Strong Back met with great success from local fans of the Brewery, including the very supportive Grand Bahama shipyard crew who often visit and even have cookouts on the grounds. One such employee was heard commenting to the local radio announcers who were on site that you should "drink Strong Back every day cause it keeps the heart attacks away!"

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2016 bottle. Poured dark ruby brown with a thinning tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a sour note. Full body with a thick rich mouthfeel and a moderately dry bitter finish. Dark roasty flavour, coffee, chocolate with a touch of smoke. Alcohol well hidden.

33 cl bottle from some dive liquor store along waterfront in Nassau, Bahamas. Barely translucent brown color topped by a creamy tan head. Roasted malt nose hints at soy sauce. Sweet roasted malt flavor has soy sauce, burnt sugar, treacle and cola notes. Sticky malt finish. Salty soy sauce notes. Rather thin bodied. Some alcohol in finish.

The last of the 13 beers my wife brought back from Bahamas when visitng last year. And turned out saved the best until last. Bought in Freeport, Bahamas. Pours mahogany brown with a maroon tint. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, and vanilla. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium to full body, sticky texture, very soft carbonation. Decent stuff.

Some roast and a little booze. Black and thick on beach like volcanic sand in Santorini. Some caramel. Bottle at dodgy bar in Nassau.

Bottle x 2 at Atlantis. Sweet malt and coffee bean nose and dark body which is a bit thin for style. Smooth but really overdone with malt and grains. Hides alcohol well and glad it's 7+ but wouldn't seek it out otherwise.

adamnowek (3074) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2015
Deep, dark black. Toasted malt with a hint of smoke. Dry finish. Fairly boozy.

Bottle aged three days in my Bahamian hotel room. Has an impressive dark pour but an unimpressive sour malty aroma and taste. Roasted malts and barley. Has a dry finish. Thin.
