COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our style of brewing has always been about taking chances. It’s an extension of our “what-if” mentality, wherein we ask ourselves what would happen if we did things differently in the brewhouse, such as fermenting with a different strain of yeast or, in the case of this beer, incorporating whole-leaf green tea imported from Japan. The answer, embodied in this IPA when we first released it in 2011, was something truly magnificent, delicious and well worth brewing again. But what if we changed it up a bit? This time around, we exchanged Pacifica hops from New Zealand for Helga hops from Australia. The result is an IPA that’s as bright, herbaceous and bitingly hoppy as the one that’s had our fans requesting its return ever since its depletion from store shelves, but with a modern, hop-driven twist that makes this second draft unique and tasty in its own right.

March 12, 2015 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - bomber. Clear amber-gold with a large foamy/frothy off-white head. Big hit of booze in the aroma - very sweet, and a bit lactic/harsh. Taste is also mostly alcohol, with tea-bitterness, vanilla and yeah, sweet. Thick, syrupy, weakly carbonated - long fairly nasty sugary tea-bitter boozy finish. Nossir - did not like it.

Slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, light earthy hops with a touch of tea and a lot of floral elements. Full-bodied; Rich malt flavour with some good alchol flavours, some rice and grain and a big dose of piney and floral hop characteristics. Aftertaste is rich and grainy with some tea and floral flavours and finishes with alcohol, rich malt and a piney and resinous note. Overall, a nice and rich beer with some good flavours and showing a smooth and floral bite that lingers indefinitely. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few hours ago at Grape Vine in Sterling Heights, Michigan on 09-December-2016 for US$7,99 sampled at home in Dearborn, Michigan on 09-December-2016.

Nice looking beer, golden yellow/brown.. but almost no head. Smell is great.. hops, malt, fruit, sweet. Taste is pretty awesome, you get the green tea right away.. with the sweet fruity malt and hops. It’s almost overly sweet though and a bit fizzy on the palate. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great beer.

Bottle. Poured a golden yellow color with some light hazy golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma was light herbal hop notes, light resin, green tea comes through. Interesting.

Bottle. Light to moderate roasted grain for the malt, moderate herbs and grapefruit for the hops, light soap and dried leaves for the yeast, with a big dose of green tea. Head is small, frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor starts faintly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium, slick with a lively carbonation and a very dry finish. An unusually refreshing and crisp DIPA with a cleansing finish.

26/XII/15 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ Tim’s 1st Second Christmas Day Tasting - BB: n/a (2015-1794) Thanks to sebletitje for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange beer, creamy solid yellow head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, sweet malts, some honey, funky, bit sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty spicy, sweet, quite some tea noticeable, bit sugary, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: more tea, spicy, sweet, hint of exotic fruits. Very complex and interesting.

Thank you Sebletitje! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. Bottle doesn’t have a clear BBF but seems to date back to around January 2015. Hazy amber, creamy off-white head. Nose is big sweetness, vanilla, sugary yoghurt, milky yeast, candy,… Sweet but in an oddly desert kind of way. Taste is interesting, sweet vanilla, sugar, touch rice pudding, milky sweet yoghurt, white sugar, vanilla finishing into mild floral green tea in the back, light touch of mint. Creamy milky body. This beer should not work but it does in a strange & interesting desert kind of way. Looking at Delicious IPA maybe they were going for a desert IPA. Way better than the first version, fascinating beer.
