COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wonderful spirit of camaraderie, cooperation and mutual support exists in the world of craft brewing. We have harnessed this spirit fully in the crafting of this special collaborative brew dedicated to the resilient people of Japan who are bravely endeavoring to overcome the tragedy of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. We tip our brewing hats to the quiet elegance and humble sophistication of Japanese culture through the judicious addition of Japanese whole leaf green tea to this big, bold, spicy and herbal IPA. Cheers, Japan!

sweetness (candi sugar) but the malt definitely makes it’s presence known and balances the beer well. the green tea comes in as an herbal smell, a little more obvious in the flavor as it warms...and the mix of hops used (especially the sorachi ace) is unique and blend well together. nice brew. you can definitely taste the baird and stone influences clearly."

[email protected] vs. Moeder: hazy orange with a fluffy white head, smell grapefruit & pine hops mixed with very strong floral & herbal notes, taste is bitter floral hops upfront followed by a very herbal, sweeter taste afterwards, slightly fruity, I am getting some herbal tea and very light jasmine but I am not getting any green tea, a bit more interesting than great

Bottle… Clear golden ale with thousands of white yeasties and a small, creamy, white head. Pungent, musky, peppery aroma. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Not picking up much tea in the flavor; just rindy hop bitterness. Finishes bitter and abrasive. Too bitter (without meaningful flavor) for my wimpy palate. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

Botella. Hazy deep orange colour, white lively head, good lacing. Fresh herbal like fruity hoppy aroma, pleasant. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is fruity and bitter, herbal, piney like, dry indeed, more bitterness. Oyshiee.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear orange amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is fresh citrus, floral and herbal hops though I don’t get much in the way of green tea. The flavor is again fresh citrus and herbal with some more subtle floral notes. Hints of caramel and some stronger green tea influences toward the finish. I’m getting a bit of spiciness as this warms. This does make for a pretty interesting IPA. Definitely worth the try.

Bottle from Capone’s. Has a great pour; turbid deep golden orange with 2-finger fluffy white head. Nose is hopcitrus, florals, tannins, black pepper. Tastes rich, very citric, floral, spicy, black peppery, and has a crisp finish. Very complex and enjoyable.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours orange copper with a modest beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with residual green tea taste and a peppery mouthfeel. An interesting and unique brew that is worth trying.
