COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This lovingly crafted stout derives its name and character from two sources: mashing with generous portions of chocolate malt (both barley and wheat) and fermentation with our Belgian yeast strain. The flavor does not deceive; it is rich and chocolaty, complex and spicy.

pitch black color. Nose is kinda weak with faint hints of dark chocolate. Mouth is full bodied, moderately estery, some liquorice, roastiness. Rounded, but not tons of depth. Moderate roasty finish. Good, but nothing too exceptional.

Draught at Tadg’s. Aroma of chocolate, spice, raisins. Dry, dark chocolate flavor, apples. Nice chocolate character but dry and less than overwhelming. Very drinkable, smooth finish, though rather light in body and somewhat thin in the end. Tasty, but it didn’t live up to the expectations that the name gave me. Slightly spicy Belgian yeast character but not much.

Very robust beer. Cocoa, bitter cocoa nibs and milky whip vie for attention. This is an unrelenting, though very smooth beer. Doesn’t really ebb and flow, just a thick, slightly decadent beer. The slightly phenolic yeast shows up late, but is not much of a factor here. Good stuff and it will get the missus doing cartwheels after a glass or two...
