Pours black with a large, light tan head.
Nose shows roasted barley and soft toasty malt with a bit of smoke in there too.
More roasted and smoke as flavours but with some sweet malt underneath.
Nice creamy mouthfeel.

Peppery hops and wooden smoke are intertwined atop subtle caramelized fruitiness in this well-tendered Smoked Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy brown-hued darkness.
-The smoke segueing into hop bitterness is lovely and harmonious.
-Smokiness is prominent throughout.
-The nose doesn’t appear as deep as the flavor profile.
On the handpump at Harajuku Taproom.
From the handpump. Light ashy smoke in the aroma but mostly choc and slight coffee notes. Lush dark tan head, very dark brown, almost black in colour. No smoke through the flavour, just more toasty choc and coffee, some very slight toffee notes too. Smooth velvet mouthfeel, low to no carb (as you would expect off the handpump). Bottle from Asahiya. Good smoke, light garlic oil nose. Dark brown, translucent edges. Initial is all smoked malt / mid is much the same, with maybe some umami notes / finish gets a bit metallic and has some phenolic edges. Medium body (a bit thin, actually). Good enough. On tap at Craft Beer Base. It poured like a classic stout, dark black with a nice tan head. The aroma was not so noticeable and the flavor was good but mild. Draft. Dark maroon color, almost flat. Aroma of burnt espresso. Taste is burnt wood, charcoal, coffee.
