Black body but some light peeking though. The classic Baird hops are more reserved in this nose, unusual for them but not a problem. Cocoa in the nose as well. Taste was bitter chocolate and some light grasses, sweet coffee finish. Chocolate was more apparent on warming. Soft palate, medium fill. TimE (6076) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 27, 2009
This was on hand pump. Very much a nod the a lighter weight British stout. Hops are very restrained. Body is fairly light, with good focus on chocolate malts. Finishes malty and a touch chocolately sweet. Not so different than finishing a chocolate shake. Yum, but not going go blow you away.
