Draft to large flute
Orange, sweet malt, and honey and after a while some skunk. Translucent amber with a thick white head which reduces quickly. Huge sweet malt, a little bitterness, not much else. Ferris (15336) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 6, 2013
Draft - Grainy malts and a bit of yeast. Cloudy amber with a rich beige head. Lot of grain and very little sweetness. Missed the mark on these one, wished the malts were more prominent. KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 24, 2009
2008 version, drink a year later on draught at Nakameguro.
Huge malt, sweet but balanced by alcohol, and age. Smooth, clean, no strange flavors at all. The best Japanese-made bock I have tried yet. Much better and well-balanced than when it was young.

Caramel in color with little head. Slightly fruity nose, caramel malts, chocolate, light toasted nuts. Body is a tad thin. Caramel malts, a little toasted, some fruits, and chocolate. Sorta bitter in the end. The alcohol comes on in the finish, but not all that noticeable. Pretty solid dopplebock. TimE (5817) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 24, 2008
Smooth milk chocolately and caramel malty brew. Malt profile is spot on. Dangerously drinkable for 7%. Perhaps a bit fuller bodied would have helped. The commericial description is pretty spot on. This is what I want to drink next to a fire reading a good book.
