Draught at Baird Bashamichi Taproom, Yokohama - RBJG#2. Black - offwhite head. Chocolate, licorice, bisquit, bread notes, nice malty, light to medium hoppy. OK drinkability. MartinT (10155) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
My Bottom Line:AndySnow (8311) - Huddinge, SWEDEN - APR 4, 2013
Resinous hops, berry-like fruitiness and chocolate-bearing malts descend into mild tartness in this drinkable but lackadaisical Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the darkness.
-Is this how the finish is supposed to be, or was this brew just not well tendered?
-The lax, tiny bubbles create a sweeter-than-usual feel for a Baird’s brew.
-The mouthfeel is neither rich nor lean.
-I much preferred their Smoke Stout, for example.
On tap at Ushitora.
Tap at Bashamichi Taproom, Yokohama. Black colour with a beige head. Sweet caramel, chocolate, coffee aroma. Flavour is rather hoppy, caramel, coffee, somewhat fruity. Travlr (26430) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 1, 2013
Draft at the source. Brown color, tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate brownie mix. Taste is dark cocoa and subtle pepper. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 27, 2013
Tap at Harajuku Baird. Dark brown colour, small golden head. Aroma lots of hoppy bitterness, bit of roast but dominated by the hops. Taste is pretty nice, initial hoppiness again, maybe bit of citrus, bit of orange, lots of roasty malt, burnt bitterness too. Pretty nice. Tastes like it is stronger. My favourite out of the lot in the Lucky 7 Stout month promotion.

Draught at Baird Naka-Meguro Taproom. Very black. Heavy licorice and coffee aroma. Dryish with plenty of coffee. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel, tough a tad syrupy at times. Salty finish with almost aggressive tar. KyotoLefty (10810) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 22, 2009
UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 Tap at Basha. Hoppy citrus nose, chocolate, licorice, light coffee. Shiny black with a thick bubbly head. Hoppy, roasty flavor, nice good, grass, citrus. Better than previously.

Besides a slightly thin body this is a decent beer. A very hoppy stout, athough not overly so. Nothing too mind blowing but cetainly different TimE (6275) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 27, 2009
I found this much like the Shimaguni Stout, but with the hops cranked up. Very hoppy stout with a good roasted malt backbone. Very American. Still enjoyable, but would rather have the Shimaguni for balance.
