3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (in NZ) - a taster. Big on the hop counter. But what a liked about this was the earthiness to the hops. So distinctive to the many West Coast IPAs I have been tasting in recent times.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Hashigo Zake. Pours hazy deep amber. Big hoppy citrus aroma, spicey grapefruit, sweet caramel.
Big mouthfilling flavours. Lemony bitterness, great body to it. A beautiful balance between hops and malt.
It achieves a huge flavour while remaining super drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
10/11/2009. Bottle, Hashigo Zake. Hazy rose gold. Grass and pepper hop aroma with a solid, yet understated, malt backing. Big hop flavour across the whole length of the beer: grassy, herb and a hint of citrus. Moreish nutty malt carries everything well. A little floral yeast note plays a part right throughout too. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark amber color. Moderate grapefruity nose. The mouth is superbly balanced with moderate hoppy, ctirusy front and crystal malts shining to provide excellent mouthfeel. Moderately bitter finish. This is what a balanced Ameican IPA should be.
