Amber pour with a thick white head. The aroma is a little bit spicy and orangey. Fresh and sweet with a little bit of chewy sweetness. PIne and a little bit of peppery citrus character. Lean malt and a touch of light lean malt. Soft pine and some light sweet character. Chewy and fairly rich. Decent. KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 23, 2009
Tap at Nakameguro.
Huge fruit aroma, lots of citrus, medium hop aroma, with orange popcicle. Flavor is malty, with big fruits, lots of citrus. Big bitter hoppy finish, but not much in aroma hops. Malt-centered, with a bitter finish. Rather light-bodied and clean. Nice but not so interesting.

Another disappointing Baird seasonal. Who would have thought. A highly malty, swwet beer. They shouldn’t really call it a a double IPA. Turn the malt down and let the hops shine. Oh, and stop experimenting on the consumer Baird! chuwy (50) - JAPAN - JUN 12, 2009
My first on tap at Taproom Nakameguro was a dissapointment. My second again at Taproom was still not right. Too sweet and strange aftertaste. Third at Towers was better, about a month or so later but there was still something about it. Half way through, it got too sweet and malty. The taste was almost cloying at times on the tongue and in the mouth. Not horrible but just a tad too sweet for me. I’d have liked more hops. It may improve slightly with time but will still probably be too sweet. TimE (5817) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 21, 2009
Golden apples, citrusy nose. Huge crystal malts in the body. Very sweet and malty. Not my type of IIPA at all.

Bright copper color. Sort of light aroma for a DIPA. Dissapointing. Sweet malts, citrus hops, light molasses- very sweet flavor. I found this annoyingly sweet, actually. It’s not bad, really, but I wouldn’t re-visit this one.
