22 oz. bottle. $6 @ Binny’s, April 2011. Poured into a smallish pilsener glass, just to get a good look at the stuff. Pours hazy gold with red highlights, and a lot of particles floating around. If the base style was a Belgian wheat beer, this could be seen as OK. Big fizzy head. Smell starts off with golden ale malt, a bit of sour note. Nice, just not a BIG smell, I guess. Have to say, though, the taste is not that much of a much. Maybe I let it sit around to long. All I can really get is a Fat Tire with hard Mandarin oranges in it. Guess I should have had this fresher.
Pours light golden with a sight haze and white head. Light wheaty malty aroma. Light malt/wheaty flavor with citrus like fruit notes. Quite refreshing, a great summer beer.

Bottle thanks to Mick. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A big sweet citrus orange nose. Smooth, citrus, earthy grains. Solid. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUN 28, 2015
Tap at CBM Koenji. Lots of orange in the aroma and initial taste, quite spritzy, almost like a soluble vitamin c tablet. Bit wheaty too. Pretty nice! Light sourness from the citrus. Liked this more than I expected.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2016 Tap re-rate for 2016 version. No skunkiness this time. Lots of zesty citrus. No sweetness. Tart and dry. Very nice fruit beer. Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a hazy gold with a minimal white head. Aromas of natsumikan, white grapfruit zest and pith on the nose with a little bit of skunk. Taste is all citrus. Soft carbonation with a juice-like mouthfeel. Not sweet at all. Light body with some honey on the palate. Refreshing but the skunk takes it down a few notches in my book.

Rich mikan , decent fruity/sour balance, clean finish. Classic Baird seasonal, very well done mikan ale without any useless sweetness.
