Black color, nice chocolate brown colored head. Sweet, malty, roasted barley scent. Sweet, malty, black currant leaves, roasted barley taste. Medium low bitterness. Roasted barley aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel.
Bottle from the brewery.
Pitch black with a very tall, fine, tan head. Creamy roasted aroma with lots of chocolate, a touch of coffee, nuts, and a touch of sweetness. Quite dry flavor, but very creamy, well burnt, chocolate, more coffee, still a touch of sweetness, and more hops than usual for the style. Very well balanced. Dry, burnt, and sweet, but not too much of any. Dry, hoppy finish. Long-lasting bitterness coming from both. Very interesting and pleasant, characterful dry stout. I really like that tinge of chocolaty sweetness behind a generally dry flavor.

Pours dark red color with a small head. Soy on the aroma, tar, smoke and malts also, subtle dried fruits. Slight metallic notes on the flavor, dark malts, coffee notes, bread, very subtle wheat, cocoa and some wood. Slick palate, somewhat light feel. Doesn’t feel that old, good.
Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget, March 2013.
Clear dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Soft with roasted malt, some nuts, chocolate and notes of hops. Slightly bitter finish. Dry and easy to drink, a relaxed one.

Some roast and a little dark chocolate. Pours black with decent head. Bitter finish. Soft carbonation and creamy consistency. Tap at Churchkey. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 12, 2005
Bottle at RBSG, thanks to TimE (I think). Dark brown cody with some caramel light at the edge of the liquid. Juicy gummy flavor, with some cannibus and milk flavors. Lacking any stout characteristics. Very watery, oily and slick. Dirty and gritty in the finish. Not a good beer. Svesse (8932) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 31, 2014
(Bottle) Very dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, black rye bread, coffee, liquorice, hints of dark fruit and a touch of soy sauce. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, dried fruit, a touch of orange peel (or chocolate with orange) and a dry finish with a balanced roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty dry stout. Nice one. Marduk (8622) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAY 7, 2015
