COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The concept for our Single-Take Session Ale is this: a moderate gravity (11.7 P) Belgian-yeast fermented ale that enjoys lots of hop-flavor and hop-aroma character without exhibiting much hop-bitterness (only 20 IBUs). We want Single-Take to deliver a complex yet balanced flavor explosion that is bright and sprite and never fatiguing. A deft grist combination of floor-malted barley (Maris Otter and Bohemian Pilsner), wheat and rye provide the perfect stage upon which our whole hop actors (German Tettnanger, Czech Saaz, American Santiam and Amarillo) get to sparkle. Our Belgian yeast strain holds the entire flavor performance together with its firm, spicy and tart directorial oversight.

Keg at Harajuku taproom. Slightly cloudy pale yellow colour with small white head. Aroma is yeasty, bit Orval like but not as funky, and a bit saison like. Also a touch of lemon and orange. Taste is nice and fruity and ultra drinkable. Feels very pleasant in the mouth. Slightly bittter finish. Lovely!

Pours dark amber with a large, lasting head. Nose is very phenolic, big peppery and clove-like characters along with doughy Belgian yeast and lemon notes Lots of lemon as a flavours too as well as the doughy yeast. Also some sweet light malt and soft pear notes. Finishes very dry. Carbonation is too high. Very nice, refreshing stuff!

Bottle. Pours a light hazy yellow. Aroma. Tropical fruits with a bit of caramel on the nose. Taste. I can taste a slight pineyness followed by a bit of pineapple, also i believe the marketing description accurately describes the taste of this beer.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2015 Re-rate at Naka-meguro Taproom: More Belgian saison-like notes on the nose with some fruit, banana, lemon zest and pepper. Not much citrus, very saison like in a way. Solid and enjoyable. On tap at Nakameguro Taproom. Served in a half pint shaker. Straw-colored with a modest white head. Strong Leon, lime aroma with pine needle/resin undertones. Medium body with a nice crisp dry finish. A really good session ale.

Pours cloudy golden to straw, with a large soapy head and excellent lacing. Aroma is floral, bread and grass. It gets the flavours of a Belgian ale, but turned into a session ale, keeping it very light and crisp, and quite hoppy. Get the classic malts, some yeasty funk and a balance of citrus from the hops. Medium-light body, smooth, lively carbonated with abrupt finish. Overall, a very interesting beer. Nice.

This was highly carbonated and had a large head on it. It tasted good, a little bitterness. I could drink more but there wasn’t really anything that grabbed me. Good but not great.

4.7% at Tadg’s draft pint 1100 yen with 200 yen off during happy hour. Great honey gold color with a piney + citrus hop aroma over a malty base. The taste is thin bodied, a bit watery but it has a bitting bitter start, biscuity middle & lingering sweet fruity finish. Pretty good, it would benefit from a fuller mouthfeel though... As it warms up it gets a bit of spiciness to it, nice.
