Restrained aroma in an amber pour. Hop forward to start but rapidly swamped by a huge malt body and finish. jonno (2851) - JAPAN - MAY 12, 2012
Solid. That is what could always be said for the Tek IPA and it remains the same here. The English/US hybrid is given a more rounded body thanks to the yeast change, but doesn’t allow as much flavour to be imparted as the original. Full bodied. TimE (5999) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 9, 2012
Deep amber brown color. The nose is hoppy but lacks the depth of am ale. The mouth is very well balanced, estery and well made, but honestly does do a lot for me, but I really apprecriate the effort and creativity. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 7, 2012
Keg at Harajuku taproom. Slightly cloudy amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is wheaty, bit of citrus hops, lemon, bit of cream. Taste is wheaty, fruity and bitter and a touch floral. Small prickle in the mouth, bit of spice. Nice. KyotoLefty (10531) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 5, 2012
Draught at Tadg’s. Deep orange-brown with a fine head. Salty hop nose, grass, pine, a bit of orange, mellow malts. Soft fruity malt flavor, light caramel, mellow and smooth. Nicely bitter, no so evidently a lager, but certainly different from the IPA. Strawberry, some cherry, yeasty and smooth. The fruit came out nicely as it warmed, though with a somewhat strange, interesting character. Good, though 1 was enough.
