COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Can there ever be enough permutations of the great India Pale Ale style? Of course not. In this beautifully nuanced, Japanese esthetic-influenced ale, we marry in the conditioning tank ample dosages of earthy-herbal dry hops (Hersbrucker, Styrian Golding, Santiam) with deft additions of whole leaf Shizuoka green tea. The result of this international botanical marriage is, in a word, sublime.
Baird Beer, as you know, is unfiltered and the addition of whole leaf green tea to Wabi-Sabi IPA has contributed a very strong particle sediment. Do not fear or fret, this is all-natural good stuff and it tastes great! You will not find this in a can or mug of your favorite industrial brew.

larsga (7540) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 13, 2017
Small white head. Hazy, yellow body with strong carbonation. Sugary herbal aroma with fruity caramelly notes. Dry raisiny perfumy taste with citric herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dry spicy green tea aftertaste with metallic notes. Not bad, but a bit odd, and the metal detracts. (0.33l bottle at World Beer Museum, Tokyo Skytree.)

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2017 From meny; pours golden, slightly hazy with a small to medium sized head; aroma is floral, delicate, some citric notes and fruitiness in the background, complex and subtle; taste is quite sweet, floral and fruity, fades into a dry herbal bitterness; texture is thin and a little bit silky with medium carbonation; a very nice brew

Draught @ Wishbeer. Hazy bright orange with small foamy whitish head, faint orange peel aroma, low carbonation, lightly bitter taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. Decent not remarkable.

Draft. Pours opaque orange with white head and lacing. Citrus hop and crisp, refreshing tea aroma. Bitter citrus with green tea in the long, mouthcoating finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours the color of fresh queezed pear juice. Huge white head. Smells like sweet green tea and tastes the same. Great! Hint of kick very late in the finish. Deliciously refreahing.

Bottle. Lemon, toffee malt, and orange peel aroma. Murky yellow-brown with small head. Bitter sweet lemon peel and light malt flavor. Light body. Okay but not much to it.

[email protected] Orange amber, dirty hazy. Malty, slight amber bready straws on nose. Some citrus. Med bodied, malty. Strokes me as an old/offy bottle. Doesnt taste like much. Sort of okish, no apparent faults. Just boring. Some pine in finish.

quite unique aromas of plum compote, plum wine, a hint of wild strawberries and minty herbs with a woody undercurrent; all this with a stable retronasal revival, reviving what otherwise would be quite a fizzy, foamy, sourish, thin beer lacking smoothness, mouthfeel, (at least a hint of a) malt base. Or maybe this needs to be drunk quite cold, like: ice cold. Hm. Nevertheless a unique, light summer ale.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 2, 01/05/2015. Lightly hazed orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric pith, melon, straw, lemon rind. Taste comprises tangerine, earthy hop strokes, orange pith, pale malt, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Ok.

Aroma is spices, white bread, malts and light hops. The flavor is citrus, fruit/tea, mild hops, malts and a tart/increasingly bitter finish. One of the few times tea flavor in a beer isn’t a negative.
