COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
West Coast Wheat Wine is a huge beer in terms of alcohol strength. 60 percent of the fermentable extract is derived from malted wheat and this lends a quenching drinkability rare to beers of this strength. The hops are 100% American west coast types that are bold and citrusy in character. In the glass, Baird West Coast Wheat Wine is a deep copper-gold color and sports a very tight, creamy-white head. The nose is piquantly complex -? we detect notes of pears, plums, raisins and the ominous foreboding of alcohol. In the mouth, you will experience a panoply of sweetish honeyed-fruit flavors that are washed clean by a robust hop bitterness and a hot alcohol finish.

GarrettB (1658) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 5, 2017
February 20th, 2015 - This serving is the 2014 edition, colored a brilliant gold in the pub's light, and looking mostly clear, save for the faintest veil of haze. And don't forget the thick head on top, shining a brilliant contrast of white against the golden body. A great deal of sweetness is evident on the nose, rich with cherry and a slight peachy vein to give the scent some brightness. The flavor is extremely alcoholic, even though this wine has (hopefully) been sleeping away elsewhere, and also tangy, with a discernible tangerine taste echoing from the foretaste to the aftertaste.

Bottle from Asahiya. Big nose of caramel, citrus, alcohol, dark fruit, raisins, and sweet pears. Hazy copper color, thin around the edges, with almost no head. Flavors of dark fruit, orange marmalade, caramel, a bit of wheaty spiciness, and some citrus notes in the final. Somewhat dry finish. Medium-heavy body and very warming. Wheat is not so pronounced in this one. Very tasty.

CyborgX (127) - THAILAND - MAR 3, 2017
Bottle - aroma is sweet, perhaps apricots and other similar fruit. Pours a cloudy amber, and taste is sweet barley/wheat and a warming alcohol belly. Definitely a sipper, to be savoured slowly ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
