I quite enjoyed this beer. Nice malty smell, very smooth drinkability. It would go well with any type of food from a cheeseburger, to pizza to beef stew. Mmm, must make beef stew tomorrow with onion, mushroom, carrot, potatoes, red wine, bay leaves and thyme. tsurkan_sergey (68) - Novosibirsk, RUSSIA - JAN 6, 2014
Tried on tap at Piwnica Bakalar, Novosibirsk. Amber lager. Color - amber, dark red copper. Foam - milky, slightly creamy, fine, but kept short. Floral aroma, caramel, roasted sugar, smoked notes. Taste - mild bitterness of hops, roasted malt. Actually tastes like sweet stout - very similar to the El, but not sure that it always write lager. Or Czechs Ležák beer called? The best Czech semi-dark beer with a balanced taste. Color is balanced, but is more prevalent dark. The taste is sweet and the drinks taste better than Bakalář 12° . Directly Rakovník brewery is the company store. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2009
Bottle 50 cl. Clear amber golden with a dense, creamy and lively off-white head. Sweetish aroma of burned caramel and a little flowers. Medium body with a very soft mouthfeel, roasted malts and caramel. Vague notes of cardboard and minerals. Dry and hoppy finish. Very well made. 060609 Christian (13605) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2009
Amber with a big off-white head. Aroma of bready malt and herbal hops. Dry malty flavour, with a slightly toasted quality.

50cl bottle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Label says 4,8%. Pours dark brown with a small creamy white head and lacings. Roast, caramel, bread, grain. Some sweetness but overall well balanced. Extremely smooth and lots of flavor for a beer with such low alcohol content. Very nice! ElDesmadre (3626) - Mikołów, POLAND - MAY 30, 2011
Bottle. Beautiful red-brown colour, head is not very big nor durable. The expected skunkiness fades away fast leaving the smell of malt with a graininess reminding me of cooked groats, hops, some cherries, ash and very little amounts of wet cardboard and metallic elements. Taste is a quite intensive but also slightly metallic bitterness, nutty hops, caramel and a very light fruitiness. There is also some maltiness in the taste but it is subdued, as this is quite a hoppy vienna - which makes it the more enjoyable for me. Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 14, 2009
It is dark, red amber with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and light fruit. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of caramel, roasted malt and dry citrus in the finish. It is deliciously malty and yet refreshing and dry, a nice combination. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 30, 2009
Bottle. A clear, copper colored beer with a big, coarse, off-white to beige head. Lacings. The aroma has some dried fruits and caramel, some roasted malt and hops. A bit boring maybe, but quite good. Dried fruits, caramel, some roasted malts and a fine noble bitterness in the mouth. Dry and full-bodied. Slightly roasted, bitter finish. A beer that starts off a bit boring, but turns out to be a fine, pleasant lager with wise use of hops. (090426) gnoff (10226) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2009
