Athens, Ga. - Five Points Bottle Shop - 500 ml bottle. Very dark, ruby red to brown pour with a sift khaki colored head. Good nutty, sweet aroma with hints of chocolate. Stick to your ribs flavor with chocolate notes, caramel, hints of licorice and some brown baked bread. Back end of molasses. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. One of the better Dunkels I have had. inbirraveritas (1577) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 11, 2010
Tasted at the "3rd Czeh Beerfestival", Budapest (I think it was this one).
Dark brown colour, creamy beige head on top.
Roasty, light yeasty nose.
Light crisp start, flavour’s of dark chocolate and coffee, nice, oily-liked, mouthfeel.
Aroma’s mainly of roasted malt beside some grassy notes in the back.
The finish is coffee/dark chocolate bitter and dry.
On tap overall a very enjoyable one...

Bottle. Lightly smokey chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with small head. Sweet-smokey light chocolate-caramel malt flavor. Medium body. Finishes a bit watery. Overall a nice easy drinking beer. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 14, 2007
bottled. purple with a thin white head. surprising aroma reminded me of a u.s. barley wine - some pine and cookie dough. semi-sweet, some cocoa powder and a dry, grassy finish. i’m glad to see newer czech dark beers getting away from the style of the most popular, overly sweet staropramen/kozel type versions

500ml bottle. Tan semithick head. Very dark red color. Aromas of sweet roasted malts, coffee, tatels. Very nice smooth palate! Aroma is roasted malts dark chocolate, coffee, goes little bit bitter at the end. larsga (7540) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 8, 2009
Big brown shiny lasting head. Deep dark barely translucent brown body with vigourous carbonation. Burnt milky caramel aroma with peppery caramel notes. Dry-sweet roasted almonds and mint taste with wood and caramel notes. Harmonic and balanced. Smooth, fizzy mouthfeel. Dry roasty peppery caramel aftertaste with buttery notes lingers. Excellent! (0.5l bottle, Pivovarsky Klub, Prague.) JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2009
Deep dark brown beer with a thick tan head. Aroma has a light chewy sweetness. Lots of rich dark caramel. It’s fairly sweet and chewy with a touch of heavily caramelized/molasses sweetness. Fairly nice decocted character with a bit of soft chewy caramel. Easy to drink... it’s fairly simple but quite satisfying. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2011

Clear dark brown beer. Crisp light palate. Pleasant mildly chocolate malt with just a touch of roastiness. A little fruity hop peeping through at the end. A superior dark lager!
