Handbottle - Thanks to Fonefan. Clear amber/brown - white head. Raisins, fruity, caramel, sweetness, oxidation, light glue notes, amber malts, light acid, vanilla, barley, nice bitterness. Lovely. Rune (12741) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2013
From a test tube, many thanks to fonefan. Unclear, coal brown body, no head, no lacing. Sweet aroma of dried and ripe fruits. The taste profile is also sweet with prunes, plums and raisin. Sweet jam-like added by sherry-like alcohol. Full bodied. Nice in smaller amounts. (hotel room, Copenhagen, 24.05.2013) Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 25, 2010
courtesy of fiulijn - clear amber-brown colour with absolutely no foam; oxidized and nutty aroma, quite whisky-like nose; no carbonation, oily and fairly sweet, sticky and very long nutty and slightly peachy aftertaste with warming alcohol notes

Cheers to Shig for the share.
pours amber, no head.
aroma and flavors, lots of dark fruit goodness here, sweet candi caramelized sugars, hints of floral hops hinting toward a blossom louthfeel. abv is subdued even at 13% this beer is going down smoothly. The caramel sugar reminds me of baked apples leaving a nice sirupy finish. JorisPPattyn (9982) - Ursel, BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2007
No head, clear cognac colour. Whisky nose, whisky malt, distilled if anything. Raisins, sweet, brandy, sultana’s, smoked malt in the finish. Syrupy, oily MF, alcoholwarming; A bit too sticky. That was to say something negative. OTOH, it is a rich, powerful brew. And it costs the earth, but I still recommend it. daniele (9063) - ITALY - AUG 2, 2009

Big, huge, massive thanks to SHIG for trucking this beauty across the pond for us Tampa geeks to lush over. I owe you one Shawn! Pours still clear copper without the slightest sign of a head. The aroma pushes up sweet dark fruitiness like figs, prunes and plums as well as caramel and some mild booziness. The taste is smooth as silk and sweet like nectar and coming across as a rich sweet dark fruit juice reduction of plums, pears and figs mixed with iced cider and a modest level of creamy caramel candy. This one is yummy sweet nectar goodness. tiong (7268) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAY 26, 2013
Sample from a bottle, thanks oh6gdx/fonefan!
Pours dark brown with a tiny head. Aroma of sweet malts, ripe fruits, raisins, hints of wood, oak and sweet syrup. Taste is sweet, smooth and malty with loads of toffee, wood, vanilla, raisins and ripe fruits. Finish is sweet, smooth and complex with hints of raisins, vanilla and wood. Quite complex and well balanced barley wine.
