Acquistata in un negozio di gastronomia a monteverde, lasciata invecchiare un annetto. Nonostante la sua complessità, si beve che è un piacere. Solo non sembra affatto una birra. daniele (9640) - ITALY - AUG 2, 2009

Thanks to SHIG for the share. Pours amber red like the other Xyauyu bottles, but had a bit more head. Nose is booze with spice, pepper, caramel, lots of malt, and some vinous fruit and character. Palate is very sweet and mouthfeel is almost syrupy, but this beer has so much depth and flavor to it. Very good. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUN 6, 2010
Cheers to Shig for the share.
pours amber, no head.
aroma and flavors, lots of dark fruit goodness here, sweet candi caramelized sugars, hints of floral hops hinting toward a blossom louthfeel. abv is subdued even at 13% this beer is going down smoothly. The caramel sugar reminds me of baked apples leaving a nice sirupy finish. back (2242) - Holstebro, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2013

Bottle at Mondial 2009.Amber with a thin white head. Average retention and above average lacing. Aroma is wood, cognac, alcohol, maple syrup, raisins and figs. Flavor is maple syrup, wood, cognac, hops, alcohol, dark fruits and hops. Liquorous mouthfeel. Awesome! Fred82 (2339) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 7, 2009
Bottle at Mondial 2009. Amber with no head. Aroma is really sweet and syrupy. Hints of cherries, nuts and prunes. Quite complex. Taste is really syrupy and nutty. It has a faint alcohol feeling at first but it grew stronger at the end. Carbonation was really faint. This is one very special beer. It really felt like a port wine. Really rich and complex. SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Bottle: Poured a caramel brown with no head. The aroma is boozy and sweet caramel. The taste is sweet caramel malt, dark fruit, and boozy tongue all of which actually hides the 13% alcohol. #100 Italian beer rate! Ibrew2or3 (8814) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Big, huge, massive thanks to SHIG for trucking this beauty across the pond for us Tampa geeks to lush over. I owe you one Shawn! Pours still clear copper without the slightest sign of a head. The aroma pushes up sweet dark fruitiness like figs, prunes and plums as well as caramel and some mild booziness. The taste is smooth as silk and sweet like nectar and coming across as a rich sweet dark fruit juice reduction of plums, pears and figs mixed with iced cider and a modest level of creamy caramel candy. This one is yummy sweet nectar goodness.
