4oz pour at Churchkey’s Night of the Living Ales 2014. Pours a murky caramel brown with zero head. Nose has lots of maple sugar, apple brandy, a little boozy, rum, some nail polish. Flavor is more balanced, sweet brown sugar, maple, rum, a bit woody, some mild booze, mild paint thinner. Oily finish.

Draft at Churchkey for the Night of the Living Ales #4. Poured a slightly hazy brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was some caramel notes, lots of brandy, alcohol stands out. Pours cloudy grape, reddish magenta, no head, no lacing. Aroma is hugely vinous, grapey, pears, oak tannins. Flavor is medium sweet and very lightly tart, tons of wine characteristics along with oak, pears, vanilla, toffee, green apple. Medium body, low carbonation. Lots going on here.
