I think daknole nailed this beer. Pours an orange toned body with an off whtie head. Vinous fruit tones of honey, plum, dark raisins. Viscous and warming with a smokey tea note that reminds me of a smoked iced cider, yeah riddle me that! Wow what an awesome experience, this was one of the most unique and enjoyable beers of EBF weekend, for once i have something to say about Italian beer other then it being over prices. Bottle - thanks to Inflateablehair. Clear copper pour with no head, just a couple bubbles clinging to the edge of the liquid. Nose is vinous, sherry, and smoke. After an initial hot feeling, combined with a really full and creamy mouthful, the blend of smoke and honey is just sublime. Nice wildflower honey taste. Richly sweet, yet smokey. Versa un colore ramato con praticamente quasi niente schiuma. L’aroma è dolce di malto con note di caramello, alcool, fumo, frutti scuri, prugne.Il sapore è altresì dolce di malto con note di caramella mou, caramello, frutta scura matura e rum e ancora di uva passa, legno affumicato. Pouring at session one of EBF in Boston. Pours a hazy orange brown with no head. Plum, prune, vague hint of smoke. Candy sweetness to it, light subtle smoke that grows slowly. Odd sweet aftertaste. Shared by God of Thunder. Pours a copper color with next to no head, somewhat still. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of toffee, booze, smoke, caramel, ripe dark fruits, plums, figs, sweet goodness. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of toffee, caramel, ripe dark fruit, rum-soaked raisins, candy goodness, wood, smoke. Geneally medium to full body with a boozy sweet finish.

Appearance : hazy peach
Aroma : Smokey bacon and really sweet. Candy sugar.
Taste : Very sweet and quite smokey. Not much alcohol except a bit alcohol on the finish.
Overall : The smoke feels like its balancing the sweetness. It’s a very interesting match. Very intense stuff. Not sure I would go thru a full glass of this. Crazy stuff !
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2010 Really excited for this beer. Pours a deep brown with no head. Aroma is rich smoked peat, barrels, sweet raisin, booze, an explosion of rich maltiness. The flavor is even more intense, very smoky, sweet mature woodiness, rich and decadent, tincredibly layered and complex. Im blown away by intensity of flavor, An incredible beer. UPDATED: DEC 24, 2009 6oz sample for $15 at Redlight-Redlight: Pours a still amber copper with some sticky legs. Has a rich caramely malty nose with some lightly smoky compleity, brown sugar and light fruits. Starts very full without carbonation but lots of dark caramely sugars and raisins well balanced with complex earthy smoky tea balance before a warming, sticky finish. A very unique and complex brew, but is worth sharing the cost.
