Nasce da un “pensiero perverso” di Teo e da anni di ricerca. Una birra ad alta fermentazione che ha subito un processo di macro ossidazione e una maturazione in botti di rovere che le donano profumi di datteri, caramello e un delicato ricordo di legno. Al bicchiere si presenta priva di gasatura e schiuma con note di colore bruno con riflessi ramati

Xyauyù Barrel is the result of a “wicked idea” of Teo’s and years of research. It is a top-fermented beer which has gone through macrooxidation and has been aged in oak rum barrels to give it scents of dates, caramel and a delicate wooden note. When poured, it has no head and no gas; it has a dark color with copper nuances.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2017 Bottle at Open Baladin Roma. Hazy brown colour with no foam, Caramel, dry fruits, plum aroma note, sweet malty, fruity, Christmas sweet taste, long finish and aftertaste. High alcool 14%. It reminds me to Vinsanto. Excellent beer

Taster from a vintage 2010 bottle, many thanks to SinH4 and DerA! Pours foggy brown. Aroma is oxidized, barrel and wood indeed, some booze too, also caramel and wet leaves. Body is heavy, sweet and strong, with an intense and edgy caramel and nut flavour. Like delicate pralines. Chocolate, wood, booze. No carbonation, but enough soft acidity to not make this beer overwhelming. Warming boozy nutty palate. Very round and drinkable, but not comprising in taste whatsoever. An impressive beer indeed!

Bottle from internet. 2010 vintage. Black colour, no head. Wow ! This is beyond beer!!! In a blind taste i could not say it's beer. It taste more like a good liquor wine. Wood, dried plum and grape, cocoa, cork, and on and on. Extremely complex and balanced. A masterpiece.

2010 bottle, #767. Hazy amber color with no head. Aroma is barrel sugar, sweet malts, toffee. Taste is sugary barrel, malts, super dense, dried fruits. Incredible tastiness and complexity. Oily and silky mouthfeel with flat carbonation. Amazing!

Bottle. Oh my god. Totally amazing beer. Absolutely flat. Tons of vanilla, caramel, dark fruits. Awsome. There is no words to describe how rich this beer is. Totally sweet almost like liquor.

0,5 flaske (nr. 1348) fra Baladin Bologna, delt med Steven i lejligheden okt-17: brunlig rav helt uten skum eller karbonering. Viskøs utskjenking. Madeira-aktig aroma og smak med haugevis av svisker, rosiner, dadler, figen, litt tjære, lær, cigarboks og torvrøyk. Superb fylde og balanse. Øl eller vin? Samme det, dette er en fantastisk smaksopplevelse hvor enkeltelementene går opp i en større helhet, sublim. Thank you, Steven!

50cl bottle from Baladin Bologna shared with Jan. Pours like a very dark sherry, but more viscous. Dark brown colour and completely flat. Aromas of dried fruit, prunes and Madeira. Quite a peaty taste with notes of leather, rum, tar, dates, dried fruit and cigar smoke. An incredibly rich and complex drink, which easily be a fortified wine rather than a beer. Rich smoky aftertaste. A truly special and wonderful creation, for which we have to thank the genius who created it.

Bottle, 2010 edition. Pours ruby, completely flat, a bit hazy. Aromas of dried fruits, raisins, plums, lots of sweetness. Taste is sweet with marked bitter aftertase, a bit woody, and some decent warming alcohol. Delicious beer, among best barley wines I’ve tried so far.

Donkere rood-bruine kleur zonder schuimkraag. Geur is zoet, honing, caramel en heeft iets weg wisky. Smaak is zoet, vol, honing een een tikkeltje caramel. Geeft een zijdezacht gevoel in de mond dat lang aanhoud. Geen overheersende alcohol smaak ondanks dat het toch veel weg heeft van wisky. Ideaal om lang van te genieten net zoals je bij een goede wisky doet.
