COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer brewed and matured to 13.5% ABV going to 14.5% in next productions.
Malts: Pilsner Durst, aromatic Dingemans, caramunich 140 Dingemans. Hops: Hallertau Hernsbrucker, Spalt Select and East Kent Golding.
Brewing process: the wort is hyperconcentrated then boiled for two hous and half. Primary fermentation for 25 in steel vessels. Then after a sterile filtration (to eliminate primary yeast strains) the beer is transfered in a steel vessel with transparent membrane and a "oxygen hat". Afeter several tasting from 6 to 24 months later (it depends on the oxidation velocity, very inconsistant!) the brewer decides when it’s time to bottle in 50cl. champagne shape bottles with good quality cork. The production is very limited. Three productions brewed during two years will be available from October 2006.

Teo Musso produces three versions Gold, Silver & Copper label which differ from each other in terms of degree of oxidation allowed and fruity perfumery aromas created. Teo’s objective is to allow Xyauyu to perfectly oxidize during the aging proces of 2.5 years {oxidation plays a critical role in aging port, sherry, as well as our vintage beers - too much oxidation will ruin the liquid - too little will not optimize the change in flavor / aroma during the aging process} .Here’s how Teo’s system works: Xyauyu is transfered to a steel vessel with transparent membrane and a "oxygen hat". After several tastings during the 2.5 year aging process Teo decides when it’s time to bottle (it all depends upon the oxidation velocity).
This golden beer reminds of an enjoyable Madera or an intriguing Chateau Chalon of the French Jura.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 2013 Oro. Cudo. Słodziutkie, nawet trochę cukrowate. Wylepiające, ale bez przesady. Likierowe, nawet a'la PX, w sensie migdały, rodzynki, figi, ciemne owoce.

Pours clear copper with no head. Aroma is caramel, raisins. Taste is sweet treacly caramel bordering on syrup. Syrupy body. The embodiment of perfection.

Got this beer from drankgigant.nl. Label says 2013, 14% alcohol. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this beer...but. A bit complex, maybe a little to sweet at first, but fine after a few sips...but. Reminds my strongly of a toned down tawny port. Alcohol well hidden, but hits you hard. Personally i would like to see a higher ABV in this, or maybe i should just open a cheap bottle of desert port. I think a higher ABV would make it even better, but thats personal taste....but. Here is the but: the price of the 0,5L bottle also hit me hard (32,95 Euro). However, this is great, great stuff. I'm sure i will buy again.

Bottle. Dark chestnut with ruby sparklings, little bit hazy and completely flat. Strong and solid aromas of figs, raisins and vin santo with significant notes of wood, vanilla, dark sugar and a bit of caramel. Complex and changing while warming. Thick syrup, full body with oily and sticky mouthfeel. Sweet start balanced with slightly alcohol spicy and warming finish. Anyway well balanced and dangerously drinkable. F**king good but also expensive.

Aus der Flasche (Version 2011) im 2017-08 getrunken. Die superfette, likörartige Barley Wine hat nichts mehr mit Bier gemein. Hier triffen Aromen von Met auf Pedro Ximenez Sherry wodurch man dieses Barley Wine nur in kleinen Schlückchen genießen kann. "Genießen" ist hier ganz klar das richtige Stichwort. Ein beeindruckendes Gesöff.

Drinks like an old porto or dessert wine with muscat grapes, figs, raisins, hazelnut, vanilla, toffee. Nicely lingering aftertaste, sweet and syrupy. Huge body, very soft mouthfeel.

Bottle. 2012. Amber color. Very good and rich aroma: just great sweet sherry, raisins, dried fruits, toasted bread. Taste: sweet, raisins, sherry or madera, a little vanilla and bourbon, dessert wine, powerful and very tasty.

Rocznik 2013: Kolor do dosc ciemny bursztyn z mala iloscia piany. Aromat drewna, figi i miodu. Gesty slodki syrop bardzo intensywny w smaku z odrobina alkoholu. Jest karmel i ciemny cukier w polaczeniu z suszonymi rodzynkami. Wszystkie zmysly szaleja i ciezko uwierzyc jak to wszystko jest pyszne i dobrze ulozone.
