This version is created by ageing Xyauyù in barrels of (peaty) Islay whiskey.

Editor’s note: previously there was another smoked version of Xyauyù; the X-Fumé was brewed with smoked tea (Lapsang Suchong) and no whiskey barrel; last known vintages are 2008/2009.
The new Xyauyù Fumé appeared first on draught at Open Baladin or Un Mare di Birra with specific barrel indication (Laphroaig; Caoli Ila...). The first bottles appeared in 2012, vintage 2008 (notice the overlapping of vintages with X-Fumé).

Melker (267) - Göteborg, - DEC 30, 2013
Deep mahogny colour. Aroma of nuts, ice tea, orange, dark fruit, leather, liver pâté, caramel, bbq, tar and loads of peat, Taste is very sweet combined with a meaty smokiness that’s almost overwhelming. Completely flat. Slightly bitter and very complex. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Bottle at Craigs Edinburgh. Clear brown colour no head. peaty aroma. Peaty in mouth. It drys the mead out somewhere. Not as peaty as i feared as the sweetness balances it. Ok.

Marduk (8206) - Reval, ESTONIA - SEP 30, 2017
500ml bottle (thanks Martin). Dusty chestnut color. No head. Sweet, alcohol, caramel, peat, leather, dusty in aroma. Sweet, peat, honey, roast, heather in taste. Honey, sweet, and peat in aftertaste. Soft fizz. Pleasant. Nice, but so too sweet. Solid brew.

Juks (937) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 30, 2017

500ml bottle shared by Martin, thanks! Brown beer, no head. Nose is vanilla, smoke, red fruit, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, vanilla and fruit. Finish is boozy and sweet, sugary. Feels syrupy.

Bottle @ Tasting. Pours a murky brown beer, completely headless. Aroma has lots and lots of smoke, malts, booze, red fruits, ashy barbecue. Flavor is very intense, lots of sweetness, full bodied, Mouthfeel is completely flat without any carbonation. Sticky in the aftertaste, lots of sweetness and just an overall awesome beer!!! The sugary malts and smoke lasts forever in the aftertaste. Great stuff!!

vintage 2011 @Pułapka, Gdańsk
Great thick and sweet mix of peaty Islay aromas and meady honey. Taste is full of toffee and mead plus some peats and surprisingly mushrooms

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2017 Fume 2010.

fkoolen (1321) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 31, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2017 Taster 2010 ed. @ Baladin, Bologna. Beautiful dark, reddish chestnut colour, no head, no carbonation. Drinks like a fine, old porto wine with figs, raisins, toffee, vanilla and lots of peated whiskey notes: well balanced, great aftertaste. Huge body, incredibly soft mouthfeel.

czlowiekmotyka (459) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUL 16, 2017
Aroma of a dried plum maturated in a whiskey. I find it less compelling than xyauyu barrel. But still it is marvelous.
