COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer has a deep golden color totally clear and transparent, with a bitterness which is soft to the tongue and nose however with an aroma of fresh hops, a short aftertaste and easy on foam. The combination of all feels fresh and smooth to the mouth when cold, perfect for Aruba's hot climate.

Rated in 2010 (Backlog) - Pale yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is of grain and corn. Taste is the same.

Thanks to egajdzis for bringing home this 8 oz can from his trip to Aruba. Pours a translucent yellow with no head. Aroma was grainy malts, corn, grassy, lemon and floral. Flavor was sweet and corny, grains and pretzels.

Given by a friend. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, rather sweet, faintest hint of hops. Light bodied. Supposedly brewed by a German brewer with imported German malts, though in reality it is just another beer brewed for and in a warm climate. Refreshing though.

Bottle as gift from a friend. Typical lager look, clear golden, medium white head. Aroma is rather skunky, malty and cardboard. Flavour is medium sweet, not much else. All the characteristics of a decent lager, but really nothing more.

Pale yellow no foam left. Typical barley taste and aroma. Probably much better when drinking on s warm beach in country. (Arnhem 201502) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Review from notes sampled the week of 8/6/2008 Honeymoon in Aruba and lets just say craft beer hasn’t come into vogue on this scorching desert of an island. Balashi is the Aruba beer and you can find it everywhere. I got the chance to try this on tap, in green 12oz bottles and in brown 7oz bottles, it makes no difference the beer is a pretty crappy macro lager. Smells and tastes like you’d expect light with hints of corn, honey, grains, and some skunk. I often found a mineral taste, but not always. When in Aruba this is certainly your freshest choice, but certainly nothing to get excited about.

Very cute 22 cl bottle. It must be that most people can’t stand much more than that before they turn to the higher-priced beach-side frozen drinks with little umbrella toothpicks. Standard rich yellow with some fizzy head. Quite effusively grassy aroma, though not reaching skunkiness. The flavor is more paper mulchy up front, with a mid-palate sweetness that belies the generally dry, hop-driven profile. Finishes with a noticeable hop note, even spicy at the end, peppery. It reaches into the kind of Germanic hops at the end that don’t suit my tastes, but at least my bottle--which is quite fresh, brought to me from a friend on holiday--doesn’t display any metallic or off-notes that some report. The palate is a bit limp, despite the moderate carbonation. Overall, I would rank this as "above average" from the "international lagers" of the world (beers from countries that have just one or two breweries and no brewing tradition), in that it shows evidence of real ingredients and not obviously laden with adjuncts. But were I on the beaches of Aruba, after one bottle, unless the fruity drinks were just too much money, I’d be looking for something with rum in it. Thanks H.N. for bringing the bottle!

(can - 8 oz) First off, props to the little can. I’m a huge fan. Clear yellow color with a fizzy white head. Looks like your normal run-of-the-mill pils. Aroma is light and bitter with some hops, grass, and corn. Flavor begins slightly sweet with a hint of corn and some hops, followed by a thin and watery body and a slightly bitter and sweet finish. Finishes clean.

Green bottle, 22 cl, best before 2008JUL29, gift from Viviana Martinez, savoured on April 3 2008; eye: golden, clear, white head made up of rather large bubbles, light effervescence, no lacing; nose: a bit of malt, corn, fruity, floral; mouth: low savours profile, a bit of malt, a bit of caramel, a touch of fruitiness, finale in rose water with a hint of caramel, lightly grainy and a harsh, light body, rather carbonated; overall: not a great beer but exactly what I needed tonight FRANÇAIS Bouteille verte, 22 c, meilleure avant 2008JUL29, cadeau de Viviana Martinez le 31 mars 2008, savourée le 3 avril 2008; œil : dorée, claire, mousse blanche formée de bulles plutôt grosses, légère effervescence, pas de dentelle; nez : un peu de malt, maïs, fruitée, floral; bouche : profil de saveurs faible, un peu de malt, un peu de caramel, une touche fruitée, finale en eau de rose avec une pointe de caramel, légèrement granuleuse, corps léger, plutôt carbonatée; en résumé : pas une grande bière mais c’est ce que je recherchais quand je l’ai bue

Thank you GT2 from bring it back from Aruba, clear cold and crisp with enough carbonation to keep it interesting.
