Completely flat, looks like apple juice. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, fresh slightly concentrated yellow apples, grass, apple skin, hints of caramelised sugar and raisins. Taste is lots of sweet yellow apples, grass, apple skin, oak. Slightly harsh and warming boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough.
Bottle sample @ Hardanger Frukt og Siderfestival, Øystese. Pours a deep golden body with no retention. Nose is sweet syrupy apple tones, hints of gooseberries and wood. Taste is sweet honey, red apples, alcohol, hints of herbs and citric peel. Mellow and nice, although not something I’d particularly associate with the word "cider" - this is definitely more in the dessert wine territory, although I guess technically it’s a cider...

Bottle 500ml. clear glass @ [ Fastelavn Smagning - Carnival Tasting - Ulfborg ].
Clear medium orange yellow colour with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, wood, sweet apple, light to moderate alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, apple. Flavor is a bit like a thin icecider, IMO quit good. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic.
I’m curious. Is this a norwegian take on an Ice Cider, or just a regular apple fermented and fortified dessert wine entered as a Cider (?) It’s rated by both the danish and the norwegien admins. So it’s not the latter, I guess. A headless, bright deep yellow colored pour. Not entirly still. No bubbles, but there is a faint sparkling sensation in the mouth. Inviting aroma of subtle and genuine apples. Ripe apples, that is, with a note of apple-pie. Deeply sweet and refined apple flavor. Not cloying, not sticky. Just sweet, seducingly sweet. Tones of dried yellow fruits. Also a vinous touch, almost like vermouth. Feels full and warm in the mouth. Lingering apple finish. What a nice surprise. A really good sipper!

500 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 19%. The label does not say anything about this being a fortified cider / apple wine (with distilled alcohol added), nor anything about the "ice cider" method being used, but it is rather amazing if it has fermented to 19%. Yes, I added it to the RB database, but I am prepared that it might have to go. Golden colour, no carbonation. The aroma is first boozy / alcoholic, after a minute in the glass the aroma is surprisingly moderate - dusty, with notes of apples of course, but not nearly as intense as I expected. The flavour, on the other hand, is definitely intense and concentrated, loads of sweet apples, oak and alcohol, hints of young sherry. Okay to accompany apple pie and ice cream for dessert, I guess - but I doubt that I will buy this apple wine again. yespr (46530) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 18, 2012
50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with no head. Aroma is sweet apple fruity and light citrusy note. Thick sugarish apple fruity. Sweet and lingering fruity into the finish. Papsoe (25060) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 18, 2012
Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a clear yellow with no head. Sweet subtle apple aroma. Solid body, very, very sweet sherryish apple accents, somewhat oxidized with a very boozy finish. I bet this is fortified. 180212 Ungstrup (38138) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 18, 2012
Bottled. A dark golden beer with thin beige head. The aroma has notes of apples, malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, sirup, apples, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry finish.
