Bottle (from the november 2005 RB-tasting at Dixens place - notes have been damaged by flooding of my basement, but this was such an insane tasting for me as I was new to such massive tastings, so I gave up on the detailed notes quite early). Sweet and malty. Good, but too weak in aroma. All I could read...

Bottle at Mads Langtved - Thanks. Clear red/brown - offwhite head. Sweetness, berries, nutty, green walnuts, fruity, oxidation, dusty, old, dark bread. Ok.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a slight haze, maybe due to the fact that Ive refrigiated it for longer than the recommended 30 minutes, underneath only a rim of beige head. The aroma is oxydixed malty combined with strong notes of caramel and lighter notes of alcohol. The flavor is powerfully sweet with strong notes of mlat and caramel, but also an oxydixed note as well as light notes of wood and metal. Quite nice Old Ale.

Transparent orange mahogany color with a thin ring of off-white head. Sweet sticky caramel malty aroma has some toasted and oxidized notes with nice fruity complexity. Starts with sweet dark caramel viscous maltiness revealing some smooth earthy complexity before a semi-dry finish. A nice old ale.

Poured a hazy ruby-amber color. The aroma was mostly sweet aged malt. A little fruity. Thick sweet malt flavor with more fruit but then a very dry bitter finish.

Strong raisin, prune and port wine aroma. Some alcoholic notes present. Flat ruby brown in colour, almost like port. Very vineous flavour, lots of dark fruit notes and a slightly bitter finish. Warming feel. Nice.

(Bottle 27,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber, completely without any trace of head. Weird aroma - perhaps a hint of apricots? Malty and very dry with a marked bitterness. Fruity notes, overripe fruit that is. Rather unusual. 031205

Bottle. Amber colour with a weak head. Aroma of vitamins, very speciel. Nice smooth flavour of grass, malt and some spice, very different and nice.

fiulijn (20222) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 10, 2005
Dark amber color, no head. Good aroma, mature and sweet, of malt, molasses, spices, raisins, very light phenol. Flat; extremely malty; sweet, strong body, warming, caramel, medium liquorice presence. At the end the malt fades away and the bitterness becomes bolder, very long.
Very similar to the traditional Thomas Hardys, with a stronger liquorice character.

Bottle. Redish colour with a small tan head. Malty, fruity, hoppy aroma and a sweet malty, grassy taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.
