COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

Pours a clear and slightly orange color with some white head. Aroma is pine with some hints of citrus. Taste is similar with pine being the dominant flavor and the finish is bitter. Medium body. A very nice and refreshing West Coast IPA.

Beautiful looking orange to reddish, head went to the sides slowly. Little bit of lacing sticks to the glass. Aroma has nice caramel malt body, pines and grapefruit hops. Taste has sweet caramel malts, pines, resin and grapefruit hops with moderate bitterness. Fullish body and medium carbonation. Nice and malty IPA.

Bottle from backlog notes. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have lightly toasted malts, caramel, orange citrus, light resin, herbal notes, good, drinkable ipa.

Aroma: Sweet with citrus, pine & grass overtones, only slight grapefruit scent <> Appearance: A beautiful rust-gold color almost tending toward red <> Taste: A nice rush of hops, finishing slowly, comes on for 10 seconds afterwards with bursts of sugar, citrus, pine, grass and grapefruit; delicious! <> Palate: Slightly oily, lite acerbic bitterness, ripening towards the pine with only a little booziness <> Overall: A highly drinkable IPA on the slightly sweet, piney-side with plenty of hops and a high-enough ABV (7%) to easily make it worth the admission price. At this level, and especially for the price ($9 for six-pack bottles) there may not be a better mid-level IPA. A current go-to beer for me.

Pretty smooth IPA, bit of some fruity hops with a simple aftertaste. One of the easier IPAs to drink, but is still refreshing -

From can in front of De Bierkoning (had this on tap once, in California in 2009, pre-RB). Clear deep golden color. Off white head. Aroma’s of caramel, dark malts, bitter hops. Bitterness is more upfront retronasal. Flavor is bitter, with dark malts in the background. Medium bodied. Long firm bitter finish. Now I need to re-retry with a fresh one.

Bottle. Orange citrus and caramel aroma. Orange/bronze colour with a frothy off-white head and lacing. Medium bitter citrus hop flavour balanced with sweet malts. Medium body with not much carbonation. Long bitter finish. Solid IPA.

12 oz can pours a clear copper/orange color with moderate white head of tiny bubbles which leaves some lacing. Aroma is full of citrus hops, pine resin and caramel. Taste is bitter with a brief appearance of sweet malts in the middle before a long dry finish. Body is medium with average carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. This is a solid, satisfying IPA I’ll try again, although it didn’t make me say WOW the way that my first Sculpin did.

355ml can. Pours a copper amber with a thin beige head. Aroma: Citrus, pine, caramel, biscuity malt, toffee notes. Nice complex aroma; both malt and hops evident on the nose. Taste: Caramel/biscuity malt flavours followed by strong citrus flavours. Very hoppy. Lingering bitterness that dominates the aftertaste. Oily slick texture. Quite hoppy/bitter at the expense of having much flavour complexity. A nice IPA.

Vom Fass direkt im San Diego Tabroom - frischer geht’s kaum. Optisch astreines Amber. In der Nase schöne Grapefruit. Setzt sich leicht süß im Trunk fort. Mittig malzig, hinten bitter. Ein IPA beim dem für jeden was dabei ist.
