COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

12oz bottle into a craft glass. Pour is an ultra clear copper color. Half a finger of white head. Aroma is pine and caramel. Mouth is pine - resiny/sticky dominates the palate. Hop bite throughout. Slightly dry finish. Medium body. No lacing. When it comes to IPA’s, I’m normally not big on the pine flavor. This one isn’t all that bad.

Fantastic beer no doubt. Smells great, hoppy and smooth. Tastes a bit like the sea.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2017 Draft at Ballast Point. Hoppy, but with more malt backbone. Hints of caramel like a Vienna lager. Hops are piney and resinous, but a little overshadowed.

Love this beer, even more than their sculpin. Clear centenial hop, but moderately balanced. Pours amber gold in colour, highly floral. What you would expect from a big hop IPA

Ruby red amber, voluminous head and thick lacing. Caramel, burnt toast, tobacco, bitter from start to the wash. Yet another great brew from Ballast Point. $9.99/multi six pack 12oz can. Binny's, River Forest, IL

cmacklin (1306) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 20, 2017
355ml can. Pours a hazy orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, peach, orange, grapefruit and light pine needles. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, peach, grapefruit, orange peel and pine needles with a dry, bitter grass finish. Medium to full body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Nice.
