Dark brown color, brown head. Sweet, malty, grainy scent. Malty, grainy taste. Grainy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Draft. Pours nearly black with creme colored head that dissipates. Coffee aroma with mild carbonation. Coffee flavors with chipotle spice on the tongue.

On tap at mellow mushroom in greensboro, nc. Smokey, spicy. Made my nose run a little. Nice treat!

Tried this at The Hop at Beacon, NY...Went really well with their food offerings.
The spicy kick was great...and the beer, though dark, was easier to drink than we expected.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours quite black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is slightly smoky. Med body. Flavor is smoky with chili burn. Mild dark malt. Some chocolate. At Old Grove. Pours a dark brown caramel color and a minimal espresso head. Aroma is heavy chipotle and cocoa. Taste is semi sweet with a heavy dose of chipotle and adobo. Thinner bodied and a touch dry. Good, but I wish it were a tad sweeter. I love the heat level, which is probably toouch for most people. There is never a doubt whether Ballast Point uses chili peppers.
