Barleywine fest at Sac beer week last year. Moderate to heavy barrel aged character is sweet and boozy, but the beer remains smooth and malt and fruit forward. Nicely done. dnstone (3386) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 13, 2015
Vanilla and coconut booze aroma and taste; quite sticky sweet. Deep Amber color.

Dark red with a thin but persistent head. Aroma of brown sugar and molasses. Sweet malt body is thick and boozy. Dark fruits and cinnamon last into the finish and so does the alcohol heat. A big beer to be sure. brokensail (16440) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 8, 2013
Draft @ Oakquinox 2013. Pours a hazy copper color with a small off-white head. Nose is sweet caramel and dark fruit. Mild to moderate brandy aromas with some wood, vanilla, and chocolate. There’s a touch of booze and brandy to the flavor, but mostly caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruit. Chocolate, oak, vanilla, and some light citrus notes. Wow on tap at the tapestry. Pours a black color with brownish head. Aromas of strong cherry brandy, sour lactic funk, chocolate bar, rich and deep malts. Taste is brandy angels, with a key lime and cherry flavor as well. Lots of sour notes. Excellent brew.

On tap at Tapestry with Vinny. Pours a ruby amber maroon, deep and transluscent, with a fat, creamy, sticky khkaki fluff head atop. Aroma of sour cherries, lactose sugars, banna cream pudding, sour cream, soft, luscious brandy notes, some amazing vanilla, warm cinnamon, brown sugar, and oak hints. Tastes like a slighty sour, perfectly sweet banna cream puding with a bunch of sour and oaky notes to round out the saccharine start. Velvety, full, rich body with a soft, supple, ever-so-slightly sticky palate. Fishes with a touch of boozy heat and a ton of sour/sweet banana cream and lactose flourishes. This beer is a stunner; it’ll stop you in your tracks and force you to pay attention. Phenomenal barleywine. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Brandy molasses caramel and alcohol aroma and taste with a sticky full bodied palate and an oaky finish. Veldrid (120) - Canton, Ohio, USA - AUG 10, 2011
On tap at Urge Gastropub. Pours a muddy brown color with thin white head. The nose is sweet brandy, dark fruits, and a little bit of oak. Taste is very similar. The brandy hits you first and is a little boozy but not too much. Then you get the oak notes mid-palette. The finish is where the dark fruits come in; raisins, prunes, little bit of cherry. Very enjoyable brew. Holds up to my theory that brandy barrels make everything better.

Draught at the Toronado Barley Wine Festival 2010. Ruddy brown color. Brandy, fruit, and rich caramel in the aroma. Surprisingly hoppy flavor considering the barrel aging, with a light oak and brandy touch and rich caramel malt sweetness. High bitterness but in good balance. Full bodied. Very nice stuff. yespr (44811) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2010
