A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals.
Our California Amber takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, its the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Bottle: Beautiful amber pour, great clarity and thick creamy tan head. Nose is moderate floral hops, a little pine, and caramel malts. Ample bitterness, but enough caramel malt to soften the impact. A bit floral and earthy. Very nice.

355 mL bottle. Translucent Amber with a small but foamy head. Nice lacing. Resin, brown sugar and a touch of orange in the nose. Nice malty flavour adds caramel to the mix. It finishes with a touch of earthy hops. Mild bitterness. Sorta half way between a British Amber and some of the hoppier American versions. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a brownish amber with a head somewhere between off-white and tan. Floral hop aroma up front. Fades a bit during the session lending to more caramel and biscuit aromas. Caramel malt flavour with some alcohol as it warms. Medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and an off-sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle into English pint. Smooth malt mouthfeel with a slight hop bitterness, then continue yes to finish smooth. Light lacing. Aroma of raisins. One of the better ambers Ive had.

Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks solid; a completely transparent caramelish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells malty with notes of fruity hops, ale yeast, and a touch of toast. Tastes like it smells with a mildly bitter medium-bodied mouthfeel. Solid, but unmemorable.

Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Smells faintly minerally and of malty sweetness. Taste is malty and hints of earthiness. Light-bodied with a wet texture and average mouth-carbonation, Ballast Point California Amber finishes with a lingering dryness.
