A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals.
Our California Amber takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, its the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Creamy and fruity in the malt and then fresh with some bitterness in the hops. Great version of an amber ale. Reminds me of 5am saint from BrewDog. I prefer both to traditional versions.

Excellent blend of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. More sweetness and more hop bitterness than UK versions. Should be priced less than their brews with exclusive and expensive hops.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2015 Aroma is toffee, caramel, hops, bitter, malty. Appearance is amber, off tan head. Taste is nice, bitter, malty, caramel, toffee, earthy hops. Mouthfeel is medium body, soft creamy carbonation. Overall, this is very interesting for an amber, closer to an ESB, although the bottle says that. I like it.

Bottled. Pours auburn with a slightly orange tinge, big slightly tan head. Aroma is first and foremost, caramel malt. Orange and citrus round it out. I expected a little more hoppiness in the aroma since its ballast point. The taste has more, but its malt up front, caramel mostl, some sweet sugar, with a mild citrus middle, and an astringent aspirin/hop bite for the finish. Its ok.

ice amber-red; slightly hazy; sudzy head. Crisp and clean. Roasty and sweet malts. Sweetness kind of reminded me of the candy coating on Boston baked beans ... or maybe even like caramel-dipped apples. Hops balanced things out well, with a healthy bitterness to boot. Not over-the-top by any means, but not boring by any means, either. Very enjoyable

Bottle from Whole Foods Lenox Hill. Nice copper body with slight head. Nose is hoppy, caramel. Taste nice and malty with spices and pine and nice balance of hops. Smooth and creamy texture. Good one.

Tap @Olutexpo 2015. Clear red color. Medium size, yellow head, stays. Sweet, malty, caramel, faint berries in aroma. Sweet, berries, caramel in taste. Dry bitter hazelnuts in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Quite nice.

Pleasant nutty aroma. Sweetish. Smooth palate, quite soft. Milky body, perhaps a bit too sweet. Good nuttiness and maltiness in the taste. Nice nettly spicy finish. Yeah, I quite like that. Wish it had attenuated a bit further.

5.5%ABV. Amber Ale. Poured out of bottle a deep brown amber brown. 25SRM. Nose is dominated by nutty, sweet and boldly malty aromas. There are some nice roasted oat like aromas. Almost like fresh hot cereal with brown sugar. The nutty aromas are of roasting chestnuts, Mouthfeel is carbonated, sudsy and a little soapy. The palate is nicely rounded with a ripe fruity slightly umami. Nice toffee and caramel flavors. Again the roasting chestnuts come up pretty nicely. There are a good amount of bitter hops to balance off an otherwise carb dominated ale. Goes on Favorites List!

From a bottle. Pours a clear dark Amber and makes a small off-white head. Aroma is of biscuit, malted barley. Tastes of malt and spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
